  1. He would be better served in a different conference, or perhaps level of play. Way too weak to play in this league. Gets completely displaced with the lightest contact. And he's never getting that call in this league. While he is athletic vertically, he's not horizontally, which limits options to play him on the wing defensively. Not strong enough to defend the post, not quick enough to defend the drive.
  2. We sure brought in a lot of terrible guys….Griffiths, Ulis and Meah. Unbelievably bad. Uhlis actually occupied a scholarship for 2 years. Hard to fathom who thought any of these guys could play
  3. Nope. Men’s basketball is second to football by far.
  4. That has not completely panned out. Plus, to the extent it's there, its through 1890. None of it comes at the expense of women's basketball.
  5. 1890 is not UNL. Also, 1890 allows sport-specific donations. Those so inclined can designate their contribution toward women's basketball. No one can force those funds to be routed to volleyball. Now, when Rev-share kicks in this fall, perhaps that rumor will become reality. But as of now it's not.
  6. He'll be in it as soon as we're done in the Crown.
  7. yeah, Norm was all over Grant McCasland a few years ago, and that seemed to be dead on....
  8. Positive on a Norm sighting. He lives.
  9. Short version: They may kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
  10. Those are just ugly. Ours is lame and humiliating.
  11. It's OK other than the Herbie. That's gotta go. No way you're recruiting anyone to that monstrosity in the middle of the court.
  12. It was fairly obvious at the time. Of course, Mickey Joseph said the same thing when he arrived here to coach football. He was right also.
  13. Yeah, I hated to root for UConn against Creighton.....but still, I had to
  14. I think it was the talent level on the court.
  15. Not a good look to lose him to NC State.
  16. We are so screwed.
  17. Any chance CSU would rehire Miles?
  18. The "let 'em play!" crowd.
  19. We paid Meah even more.
  20. Washington
  21. They sign personal services contracts with NIL and are deemed to be independent contractors. They get 1099s for tax purposes rather than W-2s. Would not be subject to public disclosure of salaries. Once the Universities are paying the players directly--soon--I would expect a legal challenge to the players' status. And perhaps compelling payment info.
  22. I believe yes. Things have been changing dramatically with NIL over the past couple of years. Prices escalated substantially. Last portal season that happened to a large degree in just the few weeks of the portal season. That is, from the time Gary and Williams signed their deals, to the time Meah and Berke were signed. Agents were figuring out leverage, and perceived desperation drives up prices.
  23. Of course, you can't. And you won't. Even when the University makes it's own spend in the near future, you won't hear what each individual player is getting. Not sure if we'll even know how the roughly $22 million is allocated among the programs. And feel free to be skeptical about what you see thrown around on message boards, because a lot of it is indeed wrong. But sometimes the info comes from people close to Fred, or the donors, or the NIL leaders, and is pretty accurate. Hard for the reader to parse out who might be just throwing out inaccurate hearsay, and those who know some stuff.
  24. They got there's tonight. St. Johns whupped their ass. Love it.
