  1. One would think so but honest response is Wrong.
  2. I would agree as I was shocked we even got Fred and now more shocked at where the program is 4 years later.
  3. If I were Trev Alberts, I'd be on the phone with Chris Beard now to see if he'd have any interest in coaching at Nebraska should the season finish up without NU reaching any post season yet again? Unless he ends up in jail, I'd take him to try and turn NU hoops program around.
  4. This is why I've never been a fan of Doc Sadler and his defensive philosophy. We constantly try and double team and just leave wide open shooters with teams that swing the ball quickly. We have to rely on teams having an off night shooting in order to win. While I appreciate Fred's willingness to make changes this year, just doesn't appear he is the guy that is going to get it done at Nebraska. We had a STUD in Bryce McGowens last year but it was a total wasted year. Poor coaching and selfish play ruined that.
  5. It's isn't the biggest but it certainly can tip the scales on what happens the rest of this season and possible making post season. Here is what we have left and honest prediction on outcome Illinois - Win (10-7) @ Purdue - Loss (10-8) Ohio State - Loss (10-9) @ Penn State - Win (11-9) Northwestern - Loss (11-10) @ Maryland - Win (12-10) @ Illinois - Loss (12-11) Penn State - Win (13-11) @ Michigan - Loss (13-12) Wisconsin - Win (14-12) @ Rutgers - Loss (14-13) Maryland - Win (15-13) Minnesota - Win (16-13) Michigan State - Win (17-14) @ Iowa - Loss (17-15) That potentially could get us in NIT but if we can just flip 2 of those losses to wins, we finish at 19-13 and with a few wins in Big 10 tournament, we are a NCAA bubble team. So every game is extremely important the rest of the season.
  6. Anyone know what time he is making his announcement?
  7. If you were playing Nebraska, would you let him get any open shots? I'm sure that on every scouting report it guard him closely all over the court.
  8. That was being looked at a few years ago but after they did an evaluation of the Omaha convention center, the plans have been put on hold.
  9. Exactly and now college athletes are able to pay off student loan debt for their family members. This whole NIL deal is ruining college sports.
  10. Man, if they could have somehow got that Purdue win, we'd be potentially looking at NCAA tournament right now.
  11. That is 100% true as it's a massive game. Win and you move to 7-5 with wins over Creighton and K-state on your resume. Lose and you drop to .500 and another missed opportunity to pad your resume. It will have an effect of whether or not you make post season.
  12. Well, there is one way to guarantee to see it.........Road Trip!
  13. I HATE CREIGHTON!!!!!
  14. Fred's record will be part of why his is let go but more than likely, it will be the crowd (or lack thereof). The crowd is as worse as I've ever seen with nobody showing up and it's like going to a funeral. Even the students aren't into the game or making any noise. When tickets sales get this bad, it usually results in the coach getting fired. There is to much revenue being lost.
  15. Curious how you know it's a back issue and that he was going to play against St. John's?
  16. My thoughts exactly. People need to realize this selection is meant to be for teams that are worthy to play for a National Championship and earned the right to do so. Does the 128th ranked team in the country really deserve that opportunity? It really de-values the regular season as if you can get to 10 wins, you can still make the tournament. It would become a joke with early round games that are not worth watching. They had a nice format until they added the "buy in" games. Just not worth it. It will be like football where the top 4 is fine and probably the most deserving but now we are going to jump to 16 teams. And before long after that, the #17 team will complain they didn't make it so it will go to 24 teams and so on. Money and schools whining can certainly ruin a good thing.
  17. Why not just let every team in the field then? Adding this many more teams will just ruin the alure of the tournament. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Honestly wish they would go back to 64 teams but certainly don't want to add more teams.
  18. Sure looking like a Notre Dame commit. Really thought we had a good shot at him. Still pretty amazing we are a finalist for kids of this talent level with our record the past 3 years.
  19. Obviously, even is disappointed with Fred's results (just like with Frost). However, there are some things to like such as Fred's willingness to play a touch non-conference schedule even though he knows his job is on the line. I'd take that over watching the schedule Doc used to throw at us. He'd schedule all cupcakes just to rack up wins whereas Fred is more about trying to get quality wins and challenge his team. Fred is a very well respected coach and his name still carries alot of weight with recruits. If Frost got a 5th year, then I think regardless, Fred deserves a 5th year as well (especially if he can close the deal with Parker). That kid is a player and a difference maker. With that being said, I really think we can roll out a very solid 5 or 6 players and be competitive CJ Wilcher = Lost weight and has a nice stroke from deep Ramel Lloyd = Think this kid is a sleeper and will a solid guard for us this year Juwan Gary = Very athletic and can bed streaky good when needed Derrick Walker = Just solid and only got better as season when on Blaise Keita = All around good low post player. Just needs to adapt to physical play in Big 10 Emmanuel Bandoumel = Has lots of experience and 83% free throw shooter Wilhelm Breidenbach = Was really starting to play well and be a factor when he got hurt. Kid can really battle down low
  20. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we are 8-5 come December 21st. Could see a scenario like this to get them to an 8-5 record. Maine = WIN Omaha = WIN St. Johns = WIN Arkansas Pine Bluff = WIN Oklahoma = LOSS Tournament Game 2 = WIN Tournament Game 3 = WIN Boston College = WIN Creighton = LOSS Indiana = LOSS Purdue = LOSS Kansas State = LOSS Queens = WIN
  21. Cool as I googled him and follow him on Twitter and could find nothing saying he cut his list to 3 schools. Even sites like Rivals still have noted he is down to his top 5 schools. Thanks for sharing
  22. I know I'm in the minority but think this team will be better than last year and more enjoyable to watch. Yes, I know we don't have alot of experience coming back but think Fred did a decent job recruiting and filling in pieces we need. I can see us going 7-4 at worse in the non-conference and potentially 9-11 in conference play to finish at 16-14. If you do that and then sign kids like Parker to come here, things could start trending in the right direction to the point we all expected when Fred was hired.
  23. Where are you seeing he cut his list to 3?
  24. It absolutely is
  25. Especially setting such a high expectation of 3 wins for the football team. Prefer to set a goal for them they might actually be able to obtain for a change
