  1. Sure seems like NU fans have a bigger grudge against Texas than the other way around. Texas could really care less about Nebraska as they still has built in rivalry's like OU but Nebraska doesn't have any anymore. So people in this state still make a huge deal out of hating Texas and living in the past.
  2. That is not entirely true. Texas didn't say we get $25 million and everyone else gets less. The Big 12 policy was the TV contract with Fox is equally spit however, if your school generates additional revenue outside the Fox contract, then that particular school gets to keep that money. Thus why Texas was getting paid more. No one is saying NU or the Big 8 needed Texas but the conference asked them and other school to join. It was obviously a blow to NU's ego that Texas was dominating NU in football. There was a time when the Big 12 looked like it might collapse so NU was lucky enough to get an invite to join the Big 10 and they accepted. It was probably the right move for NU to make at that time but hard to point a finger that Texas is the reason.
  3. Interesting if that will be good enough for NIT with our NET ranking being around 100 at the moment
  4. This is a very well thought out statement and 100% accurate. And it didn't help that Nebraska couldn't beat Texas in Football that just added salt into the wound. Great post!!!
  5. Again, how did they push Arkansas out as well as push NU and Missouri out. Those schools all chose to leave on their own. Texas didn't do mandate those schools leave. Each school made the decision what they thought was in their best interest. Not sure Texas is to blame for that. You might not like Texas and that's fine but can't say they forced NU or any other school to leave the conference.
  6. I can't help you either if you have no reasons. They joined the conference and dominated Nebraska and people here didn't like it. All I hear is we had to move the conference championship game to Texas which was the right move. Beyond that, everything else is just speculation and sour grapes. Nebraska liked it when it was the top dog in conference and once Texas joined and beat Nebraska all the time, everyone hated Texas and blamed them all for all the problems.
  7. Exactly how did Texas ruin the Big 8 and Big 12?
  8. What are your thoughts?
  9. Just curious why everyone automatically thinks Ramel Lloyd will transfer after this season?
  10. Decision has been made that they aren't going to pull Lloyd's redshirt and Sam Hoiberg will be 3rd guard if needed
  11. I vote we just delete this thread before everyone gets their panties in a bunch.
  12. Totally agree on the crowd as it was a very small crowd but they were louder and more into the game than sometimes when we have 10,000 people there. Absolutely fun game to be at.
  13. Not saying he would have done the same thing here as he is at K-State. All I'm saying is I know for sure he was coming to Nebraska. I even know the apartment they showed him and he was 100% planning to attend Nebraska before he didn't pass our physical requirements.
  14. What's done is done and I could argue both sides on whether Miles should have been let go or not. Keep in mind that Miles was here 7 years and he made post season in 3 of them with 1 NCAA appearance and 2 in the NIT. However, it really should have been 2 NCAA appearances as we won 22 games and went 13-5 in conference and ended up in NIT. Either way, that is about half his time here, he made it to post season. Assuming most people would take that at this point. And let's not forget that No-Sit Sunday happened under his watch. One of my favorite quotes from Tim after he was hired was that if the person behind you tells you to sit down, you just tell him Coach Miles said I don't have to. Like Tim or not, he was the one and only coach who made it cool to be a Nebraska Basketball fan
  15. It was a done deal he was coming as they even showed him his apartment. It was all set until NU said he didn't pass our health requirements. Amazing how 1 more player could have potentially changed the course of this whole season. Or if Bryce McGowens decided to stay one more year. But this is so Nebraska Basketball.......
  16. I agree but it will happen since we have our conference footprint from coast to coast now. Just makes no sense.
  17. All I brought up was that if he was cleared, I would take him as our coach at Nebraska. It's no different than people bring up names on who our next could will be when Fred hasn't even been fired yet. There is a whole thread on that.
  18. Good find as this is why I've been saying you have to wait till all the facts come out. I'm not here defending violence as think hitting a woman is about as low as you can go but let's not 100% disregard him till all the facts shake out in court. My whole point was that if he is cleared, I'd 100% take him look at him to be the person to turn NU hoops program around. If's he guilty, then obviously not. We still live in a world where you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.
  19. I think at this point, Trev has to push all his chips in and fully back Fred or move in a different direction. Fred has been here 4 years now and Fred has a 11 - 52 record in conference play. Yes, that is a .177 winning percentage. He has only a 30% winning percentage so far at Nebraska so pretty hard to justify keeping Fred and magically expect different results.
  20. Think what you said if a very valid point. It's a total different animal coaching at a school that already has elite level talent as opposed to have to build a program from ground up. It's 2 totally different skill sets. I think Fred is a very good coach if he has talent but not a great program builder.
  21. They have done that with a few other games this year. It is pretty cool to hear how the coaches interact with the players and ref's and what they say in team huddles. Of course, they know they are mic'd up so guessing they keep what they say more PG rated as opposed to when they aren't wearing a mic
  22. Again, we don't know all the details of the situation yet so I'll wait to case judgment till we know all the facts. So by your logic, Lawrence Phillips should have been kicked to the curb and not allowed a 2nd chance?
  23. I agree with you but a coach trying to save his job isn't looking at next year. He's just trying to win enough games this year to be here next year. Honestly, I have no clue what he is saying but have seen kids get pulled from redshirt years late in season. Hope that isn't the case here.
  24. Good question as hard to say. Could be there are pulling his redshirt to fill in for Gary's injury or he is just saying he is working hard and waiting for his time to come.
  25. So he made a mistake (allegedly) when we don't even know all the facts yet. But coaches like Sean Miller, Kelvin Sampson, etc. have all cheated or done bad things and still coaching and doing very well with their respective schools. I'd take a coach with a little bit of baggage that can make NU a winning basketball program as opposed to keep being a cellar dweller. Chris Beard is an extremely good coach and will end up coaching again somewhere depending on how his case turns out.
