uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 16 - Purdue
kldm64 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Agreed. It was probably closer to 10,000 in actual attendance. Still a great crowd that was into the game the whole time. I had seats in the student section right behind Purdue's bench and we stood the entire game. Great atmosphere!!! -
Is Hoiberg the coach of this team next year?
kldm64 replied to huskerbill85's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
And if Fred does get us to the tournament and we actually win a game, our level of recruits will jump dramatically. Hoiberg's name still cares alot of weight. I agree it has taken longer than expected but think he has finally figured out what it takes to win in the Big 10 and how to recruit and build a roster. -
As long as he is back by Purdue game as we don't have much shot to beat them without him.

Future 2024 Conference Opponents (Today)
kldm64 replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I just don't want to play a game at Oregon cause that floor makes me dizzy. -
I use this site. Right now, they are projecting us as a 12 seed. http://www.bracketmatrix.com/

Not surprised as deserved to drop after a slim margin win at home against a team should have won easily.
-
My bad for sure. I was in a hurry

Head coach Fred Hoiberg confirmed that junior forward Rienk Mast underwent minor clean-up surgery on his left knee on Monday. Mast’s recovery timeframe is to be determined, but Hoiberg expects him to rejoin the lineup by early January. At a minimum, the 6-foot-10, 248-pounder will miss tonight’s game vs. North Dakota and Friday night’s non-conference finale vs. South Carolina State. His availability beyond that will be day-to-day.

Just think what things would look like had we not collapsed in the 2nd half at Minnesota and have another road win. We'd be 10-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Amazing how 1 game can change so much.

Sam has earned the right to play but probably not big-time minutes. He is a situational kind of player but does contribute when he is on the floor. -
One thing I've learned living in Nebraska my whole life is Nebraska fans love to pat themselves on the back and self proclaim them to be the best fans in the world.

Creighton (5-1) vs. Nebraska (7-0) Game Thread

No Sit was never a thing for this game. And you just can't recreate that as it was a one time deal with a game that got us in the tournament. It was the perfect storm for that to happen. -

IT'S HATE CREIGHTON WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I'm already mad at them they lost to Colorado State. Correction......got hammered by Colorado State!!! Wonder how long it's been since NU and CU played and were both undefeated.
-
That is surprising to me as I would have guessed CU to be favored by around 8 - 10 points.
-
If we beat the right teams, that could get us on the bubble.
-
Now that we are 4-0, what is your prediction for how we finish out the regular year. My prediction is 18-13
-
Cause Cam Christy (their freshman) started playing hero ball and wouldn't pass it so he could take the final shots.

Former NU coach & Butler's AD Barry Collier set to retire
kldm64 replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I would definitely take the $99 season tickets but Barry was a huge disappointment at Nebraska. But let's be fair, he is not the only coach you can say that about at Nebraska. Barry had a 36 - 60 conference record at Nebraska and played an extremely boring style of basketball. He for sure left Nebraska in a mess but was just glad to see him go and can't blame him for leaving. -

Barry was a nice person but he was a bad coach. -
That is hilarious!!!

This is one of the few years under Fred that we have several good options for lineups. I like the one you have listed but could also see Williams starting instead of Wilcher. I really like having Allick and Mast on the floor at the same time and Gary is also a very good rebounder as well when he is on the floor. In the past few years, it was pretty easy to figure out the starting lineup but not this year which is a great problem to have. -

We did what was expected and win by a large margin and that is something you might not have been able to say in the past few years. There is a clear separation from the veterans to the underclassman and it showed tonight. These are the games we didn't always win under Fred in the past so nice to get get off to a great start and without potentially 2 of your starters. Heck, even MIchigan State lost at home to open the season. The schedule is set up for this team to get a lot of wins if they can just make that happen. -
I was agree it's a bit of a classless move. This kid is a 3 star and get this kind of press. All these kids think they are then next Michael Jordan but guess that is the world we live in these days with social media.
