2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest
khoock replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I have heard a few say they would prefer Hepburn over Sallis. Not saying rankings is the only thing that matters, but is Chucky Hepburn ranked in the top 150 at all? I know he has some good offers. -
Im not worried about wins and losses this season. Im just excited to watch and see how it all comes together. If we win a lot that'd be cool too.
-
Totally fine with this schedule. So many new faces and roles to sort out. With the trip to Italy and this type of non-con, we should have a lot of things figured out in time for the Big Ten play.
-
Correct. Thor said he would be back in time for the first session of workouts. And his overseas tournament in Europe has already concluded as Iceland finished 5th.
-
So eleven players will be here for the first summer session. Anyone know who those eleven are? Article says all three walkons are on campus. Im assuming Dachon and Thor are on campus. We know Yvan wont be here until later. Anyone know who the other six player's are?

The best proposal i have seen is a three team trade with including the Wizards Lakers: Anthony Davis Wizards: 4th overall pick, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart Pelicans: 10th overall pick, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma

We must not know very many of the same Lakers fans. The way it sounds, LeBron is the least of that organizations problems rn.
-
You could almost say top 5. People forget the Pacers were shaping up to be a legit contender in the East before the Victor Oladipo injury. They held the 3 seed by a few games over Philly and Boston before his season ending injury.
-
I think he has an achilles injury and he and the Warriors are trying to keep it on the hush. I havent heard anything about Klay leaving (aside from wishful thinking Lakers fans).

Cam Mack (#3) and Jervay Green (#8) both finished in the Top 10 JUCO ratings. We were the only school with two top ten JUCO players this recruiting cycle. Also Thorir averaged 9.3 points per game in helping lead Iceland to a 5th place finish. Per LJS

Ppl called me crazy when I said Raptors in 6 (assuming KD didnt play). I think Golden State got way over hyped with the sweep of Portland in the WCF. A series in which Portland blew second half leads of 15+ in THREE DIFFERENT GAMES. I also believe most NBA fans forgot how damn good Kawhi Leonard is. The Raptors have a top 3 player in Kawhi and a plethora of players that can drop 15-20 any given night (Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Danny Green, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Fred Van Vleet). Also like you mentioned, with Toronto's post presence they are much more balanced offensively.

Very impressive. There is the obvious concern about how talented the players are. But aside from Akol Arop and Kevin Cross (still had multiple P5 offers) all of our prospects were decently to highly sought after.

Bret Porter, preferred walk-on, is 'N'
khoock replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Cant hurt that he was teammates with Hunter Sallis. -
If this had always been his plan (Im assuming DE didnt just decided between elimination on Saturday and Monday when he announced) that loss to Okie St had to be an even bigger kick in the nuts. If we hold on, i feel pretty confident were playing in Lubbock this weekend. What away that would have been for him to go out. First super regional, and perhaps more, in 10 years.

This is what i was getting at. Roby makes it sound as if he and Miles were on the same page and that Roby declaring for the NBA after the season was part of the plan (so it wasnt a knock on Miles or Nebraska). The hiring of Hoiberg made the decision tougher for numerous reasons.

Hoiberg Offense helps Golden State in Game 2
khoock replied to big red22's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Bulls fan here and I will agree that Hoiberg never got a fair shake in Chicago. This past season all of the following players missed extended parts of the season: Denzel Valentine (entire season), Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, Chandler Hutchinson, and Wendell Carter Jr. All of those players are very young and four were starters. Its a young talented bunch there in Chicago and I think Hoibergs offense would have fit very well with this team. But its hard to win games when your roster is young and you are consistantly down two or three starters. -
To spend more time with his family. If thats the case, i can never fault a person for making that choice.

2019-20 Miles v. Hoiberg Roster Comparison
khoock replied to khoock's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
@Norm Peterson completely agree. If Miles was retained we more than likely lose the three you mentioned. If Miles was able to keep that roster together, thats not a bad group of players to roll out. Being unable to retain key players was one of his biggest undoings. -
My mop up squad (which hopefully we are on the good side of plenty next season) is: Charlie Easley Jace Piatkowski Samari Curtis Thorir Thorbjarnarson Kevin Cross I have Curtis and Cross in the rotation but playing low minutes, those type of guys usually get extra minutes in these types of situations. I have Thor on the outside looking in. And obviously you play your walkons when games get out of hand. As i have stated before, Arop is redshirting in my predictions.

Not to make anyone sicker but if Creighton and Loyola Marymount both win today does that mean Creighton is hosting a super?

***TIM MILES HATERS STAY AWAY. THIS IS NOT A BASH TIM MILES THREAD*** I was cleaning up and found some of my early roster projections for 2019-20 BEFORE Miles was let go and Hoiberg was hired. Just wanted to put all the eligible players side by side and make some comparisons/start some discussion. I did not factor in any attrition that would have occurred under Miles. 2019-2020 Tim Miles Fred Hoiberg Back Court Dachon Burke Cam Mack Jervay Green Dachon Burke Mika Adams-Woods Jervay Green Thomas Allen Samari Curtis Wings Amir Harris Haanif Cheatham Karrington Davis Matej Kavas Nana Akenten Thorir Thorbjarnarson Thorir Thorbjarnarson Front Court Akol Arop Akol Arop Brady Hieman Kevin Cross Isaiah Roby Shamiel Stevenson Yvan Ouedraogo

I had stated this at the beginning of his draft process and not many people agreed with me, but listening to this it sounds as if my thought was correct. Roby was more likely to come back with Hioberg than he was Miles. Now at the end of the day, it doesn't matter bc hes still gone. But Roby says so himself, Hiobergs succes with Royce White and George Niang plus his NBA ties made Robys decision much harder. Sounds as if Miles and Roby were on the same page, that being if his junior season went according to plan it would be a good time for him to make the jump.
