  1. Well shoot. Were already out on Jayce Johnson.
  2. Ya win some ya lose some. Id rather have Shamiel Stevenson. More upside and eligibility. Also has the size and length to play the 5.
  3. Our last two ships need to go to bigs. 1. Has to be a big that is immediately eligible and ready to contribute right away: Jayce Johnson or Shamiel Stevenson. Different sizes with different skill sets but both can give us a lot of front court minutes. 2. Someone who you can redshirt. That leaves us with either Kevin Cross or Yvan Ouedraogo. Staff redshirts Cross/Ouedraogo or Arop (which ever is least ready to contribute.) Thats my take on the last two scholarships. *If Joel Ntambwe is still on the table you take him as your RS player. **If Roby stays in the draft you want both Johnson and Stevenson.
  4. Thor's scholarship could open up after next season as well. His ties overseas make the possibility of him jumping ship to some Icelandic pro team a real possibility. That could have also factored in as well.
  5. Interesting. Many on here (including myself) thought he was probably the least likely to be retained out of the underclassmen. Wish we could pick Hoiberg's brain more on the issue.
  6. Serious question, bc i am not in the know, was Thorir asked to leave and chose to stay? Also, any clue if Amir and KD are going to stay?
  7. So who is a better prospect he or Jace?
  8. The LJS and OWH quote Brady himself saying he was asked to leave.
  9. 1. Joel Ntambwe 2. Jayce Johnson 3. Kevin Cross 4. JTT (Other UNLV guy) 5. Yvan Ouedraogo
  10. Joel Ntambwe is visiting TCU this weekend.
  11. According to OWH, during a coaching change the NCAA allows new coaches to deny the renewal of a scholarship even with the Big Ten's 4-year scholarship rule. So Hoiberg basically denied Heimans scholarship but did not do so for Thorir. Take that FWIW.
  12. My way off base theory that is probably not true is... that Hoiberg and Thorir came to a mutual agreement that he will go pro (in Iceland) after his junior year. A year under Hoiberg would do good for Thorir. And Hoiberg more than likely wants his scholarship more for 2020 than 2019. Also gives you a body who is a culture guy that will do whatever is asked of him and wont complain if his role is small.
  13. I get excited every time i see a recent post from @thrasher31 in a recruiting thread. I think he has been first to post about 3/4 of our new commitments.
  14. Nvm. I stand corrected!
  15. He had a meeting an hour AFTER his last final. Which is when he was asked to leave.
  16. If a kid is asked to leave, can they really stay? I guess what im asking is does their scholarship get pulled so they essentially cant stay or do they just get encouraged to leave but they are still on scholarship if they choose to stay?
  17. Also i hope Derrin Hanson has an open ship for Brady and he makes his way back to Omaha.
  18. Heiman states he was asked to leave. So assuming Washuts original news break was accurate, we have to assume Harris and Thorbjarnarson were asked too? And they either do not want to leave or havent announced it yet.
  19. Cappin means lying. Ex: "Why you cappin?". So his tweet has to refer to some type of lie or someone lying. I have no idea if its basketball related or not.
  20. 1. Joel Ntambwe 2. Jayce Johnson 3. Kevin Cross
  21. So as a sit out transfer is he eligible for the Spain trip? Will he attend but just not play? I know Anton Gill did not play in the game when we to Italy. But idk if thats bc he is ineligible or just a coaching decision not to play him bc he wasnt playing the upcoming season anyway.
  22. Unfortunate circumstances of the news aside, I have to assume that this shared by ppl close to the program. That leads me to believe that Hoiberg and Co have some silent verbal committs. Who are they? Jayce Johnson, Kevin Cross, and Yvan Ouedraogo all visited last weekend. Maurice Calloo, Joel Ntambwe, and JTT all visited a couple weeks ago. Am i missing anyone else who has visited that is not already committed? Is anyone else scheduled to visit?
  23. Not saying you are incorrect, but who told us this and do you have a link? I cant recall anyone from the coaching staff saying this unless i missed it.
  24. Not necessarily. Hoiberg said he doesnt have a problem playing an all gaurd lineup.
