De'Andre Davis went from a few on here speculating he would be cut loose bc of all the super awesome 2020 guys we were offering to possibly turning this thing into a family affair with the offering of his little bro.

Four different conferences represented. I like
-
But i mean what leads you to believe we have a chance to land a player of that caliber? Did Hoiberg ever bring in that level of recruit to Iowa State?
-
Glad he was traded. Dallas is a good organization and has a bright future with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingus.
-
Will be teammates with Khyri Thomas

Pistons

Thats what i was getting at. Mack and Burke have the same or better percentages from 3 (from the college distance). Now hopefully Hoiberg can turn all three in to good shooters.
-
My only hold up with Samari Curtis is we already have two gaurds who arent known for their 3 point shooting (Mack and Burke, still adequate). So is there room for a third gaurd on the floor who, as far i know, is average from deep? Someone correct me if im wrong on Curtis.
-
I could see Cross and Ouedraogo together combining 30-40 min a game. I think Curtis has a legit chance to play just bc i think we will be playing a lot of 4 gaurd and even 5 gaurd (Stevenson or Kavas as the "5") lineups.

I think someone posted something about the top 10 juco players from the past couple years and they almost all had modest stats their first year and some bloomed into good players their second year. Also, Samari Curtis is no slouch but Xavier and Cincinnati do not recruit at an extremely high level. Its not like he was raking in top flight offers left and right. Just playing Devil's Advocate here.

I like our roster construction. Sure, as of right now, we are a little handcuffed for 2020 recruiting. But we will more than likely have a 4-6 player class for 2021 which is also where I think we will have the best chance of landing some "star power". Plus I think we will have a dude or two emerge on this years team.

Does Creighton still have a scholarship available? Heard they got a commit from a grad transfer big on the radio today.
-
I would like to see them go after a few mid tier free agents. Danny Green, JJ Redick, and Nikola Mirotic would be the three I would like to see. All three give you some combination of shooting, defense, and size. Add them in with Kuzma, Mo Wagner, Alex Caruso, and Rondo and thats a very formidable squad. Not a Lakers fan by the way.

Looks like (if i heard correctly) he had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and couldnt get the tying run across. Also, had a runner on 3rd with 1 out and didnt get it done the previous game. If he was our HC and that was our team he would be getting crucified rn.

Finally. A Small, Little Husker Hoops Fix

Who is shooting in the first video? Looks like Thor in the black tee rebounding and dishing it out. -
Got em on campus to boot

Bad year for them this year. According to LJS, the previous four years A&M was in the top half of the SEC in either or both batting average and/or run scores. He the hitting coach for all of those years as well.

Kept Kuzma, thats huge. Sounds as if Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler are their top two targets for thats last max salary spot.

I think the NBA was on the verge of having a ton of parity next year, but the Klay and KD injuries just solidifies that thought for me. My guess is that KD would have left pre-injury, which would have brought the Warriors back down to Earth (still a great team and top 3 team in the league, but not unbeatable). Now they are without KD and Klay for good chunks or even the entire season next year. I do not think a Steph/Draymond led team will be a factor in the West, especially with all their money tied up in two injured stars. The West is now Houstons to take. But also has a plethora of good teams in Denver, Portland, Utah, OKC, Spurs, and both LA teams (yes I included LAL). Even a young Sacramento Kings team if they can continue to progress like they did last season or Dallas Mavericks with the reigning ROTY and hopefully healthy Porzingod. Theres a legit 9 other teams in the West that with a good draft/free agency and/or player development could make a case as the best team. Over in the East, you have the reigning champs in Toronto plus Boston, Philly, and Milwaukee who all have a young super star or core of stars to build around. I for one, cannot wait!!!
-
With the injuries to the Warriors, the NBA is gonna be ride open next year. I cannot wait. If the Lakers can land AD and a second tier star like Kemba, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, etc. They will be in contention and probably the favorite.

Im going out on a limb and guessing Akol is in Lincoln too.
-
We will probably never know. If he was really cleared and actually healthy and it was a freak accident than noones at fault. But if you listen to the reports of how his rehab was progressing and the intensity/duration of his practices, theres no way KD was ready to play and the fact that he was cleared to play by the med staff and leaders of the organization is a shame.

All three walkons, Burke, Thorbjarnarson, and someone else mentioned Banton and Walker being on campus. Hoiberg said we will have 11 players (out of 16) here for the first part of summer workouts. So there are four more names unaccounted for, one of which we know wont be Yvan Ouedraogo.
-
A known commodity like Hoiberg and someone with the connections of Matty A are not gonna have a problem recruiting. Especially not in the first year or two of their tenure, regardless of results IMO.

We begin practice for our summer workouts on Saturday. With the trip to Italy we get 10 extra practices. Hopefully with the excitement of the new hire, the team will get some extra coverage over the summer. I thought we could make a thread to keep all the coverage and discussion of the team leading up to and during the trip all in one place. We know that Yvan Ouedraogo wont be with the team during the trip. I believe Derrick Walker and Dalano Banton will not play during the trip even if they are eligible. It makes no sense for them to play since they arent eligible for this upcoming season anyway. That leaves us with 10 scholarship players (Cheatham, Kavas, Burke, Green, Thorbjarnarson, Mack, Stevenson, Arop, Cross, and Curtis) and 3 walkons (Porter, Easley, and Piatkowski) available for the four or five games.
