I hope the Jennifer gal is not here on Huskerhoops central because what I am about to say is not very nice. That letter is idiotic at best. We can still do things the right way and yet some peoples feelings might get hurt. We dont know exactly what was said to Amir/Karrington and so on, but lets just relax a bit. If those guys werent a part of the plan, Fred has every right to ask them to move on. While he can pull the persons scholarship from our count, if Amir or Karrington wanted to stay at Nebraska for an education they would still have a full ride(or at least how I have read it). He was up front and honest with them and now they have an option to go find a place that can utilize their skills. If we want to win(which we do) we might need to grow up a bit.

One year flyers on guys or even 2 year juco guys doesnt put you at much risk. It is fairly late to be getting freshman for this class but even with that in mind I see them being picky. Dont want to have a Scholly parked on a guy for 4 years. I dont mind going the Miles route of leaving 1 scholarship open going into the season for an in-season transfer or something goofy like that. That being said, of the current guys on roster/available for next year- We have ZERO big man depth.. so that has to be a focus for next year even if it is guys who arent great. We need something.

Do we have any in’s or connections that people’s sources know about? According to my source Fred knows this recruits mom well. All joking aside if a coach is recruiting his son are there any violations for texting if he is just texting his kid? I doubt the NCAA would be that dumb but just imagine. While Amir might want to stay, that doesnt mean the coaching staff wants him to stay... That seems to be the thought with all 3 players... This decision is not 100% by the player, it is the coaching staff.

While this is not a good look for Robin, he normally is a pretty good/fair dude. I sure hope he didn’t break the news for any of those three. If he did he owes them an apology but let’s be honest this social media world puts a lot of pressure on journalists. Doesn’t make it right but things happen. I am still hoping Heiman were to learn a thing or two. Love some of Amir’s game but they are recruiting similar guys so shouldn’t be hard to fill. Not with Banton signing on. Technically we only have 1 scholarship open. That will change if Roby or someone like Thor leaves.

Start big, cast a wide net and see what it brings in. Frost and Co did this as well. I love the idea of adding some guys who can help now knowing there spot opens up in a year. I also love that Hoiberg is hitting Minnesota HARD. He has some name recognition up here and there is some major talent coming out. I still think it will be tough to get the high 4 star kids to come to NE for a bit but hopefully can get some talent that we can build on and fill holes with transfer/grad transfer kids.

I still have hope for Brady. I think Thor is who he is. He is a hard worker but I certainly wouldn’t lose sleep if he moved on. Karrington is a complete unknown. No. Roby will not be a top 15 pick in today’s NBA. Upper classman struggle to get picked that high and Roby won’t break that trend. The second round is tough because some teams look it as a throw away and might rather stash an overseas player. The best thing for Roby would be to have a top tier take him end of first round and allow him to work his way up. That won’t happen this year but if he came back could maybe... bug maybe happen next year. He is a mid to late second round pick I would assume in this years draft but at least he gets in the league.
