Feel so bad for Ubel, he has been one of the most loyal Huskers ever. Hoping for a quick recovery.

It's not an assumption or just my opinion, or I would have stated it as such. It's more like a direct quote of someone close to the program (i.e. the head coach): "Deverell will either get a suspension or a dismissal, depending on how he handles things. It won't be neither, and it won't be both". Tim Miles, Big Red Hoops Event during the Q & A public part of the event, microphone in hand--not a private conversation, or I certainly wouldn't mention it on here. Brian Rosenthal was in the audience, so I can't imagine it was something that was supposed to be "left at the event". Cip, I don't know the basis for your "disappointment" if coaches were discussing the punishment Biggs might face. But having been in attendence, I just thought it was a direct answer to a direct question. By the main spokesperson for the program; the guy in charge. Certainly it wasn't "speaking out of school"--there is no question Deverell knows exactly where he stands and what is expected of him. Miles talked generally about his evolution over 17 years as a head coach in dealing with disciplinary situations. He was also respectful of Deverell and indicated he had done everything right so far after the event. I find nothing wrong with the explanation, and nothing wrong with his course of action. I realize second guessing everything a coach does is a big part of what a message board is, but the posters above already taking issue with the timing and degree of a suspension most likely have no experience dealing with such things, don't know all the facts of the incident, and don't have to run a basketball program in a University setting.

I am Lindsey's dad. I just want to thank all of you that support Husker Women's basketball. I have been really impressed with how supportive the fans are in Nebraska. You are all so passionate and supportive of all of the Nebraska teams. I have to admit that I was a little worried when Lindsey chose to go to school so far away. But I believe that Lindsey made a great choice and a major reason is the great fans. I especially want to thank Row 6. You are such a great supporter of the program and I know the team really appreciates you. I don't always agree with what everyone says, but hey, it wouldn't be America if we weren't allowed to speak our mind. One thing we can all agree on, we all love Big Red Basketball. I would like to see the state out line in a darker wood on the floor. Somebody we just played had that and it looked sharp. It was shuttle but you could see it.

Am I seriously the ONLY guy on the board who listens to Sports Nightly? I must be. This is not news what Miles plans to do. And it hasn't been hush hush either. Miles has spoken openly and publicly about it. Before the recent gathering, I heard Miles talk about it on the aforementioned Sports Nightly where he said basically what HB described: Biggs is going to get punished; either a dismissal or a suspension; if it's a suspension, it won't be until next season; and it all depends on how Biggs responds. If Biggs gets suspended, it would make no sense to suspend him from games in which he wouldn't be playing anyway because of his redshirt. That would be pointless. In order for a suspension to be a real suspension, it would have to occur NEXT season because those would be the first games Biggs would otherwise be eligible to play in.

Figured you must have either departed this vale of tears or joined the Peace Corps or the Hari Krishnas. Or been deployed to Afghanistan. Or ... whatever. It doesn't matter. On another note in relation to the two other players who are redshirting after transfers,.Petteway & Pitchford: it would be great if those two were available right now with injuries to big Ubel & minuteman Peltz. NU could certainly use a big guy like Walter Pitchford to complement the great ship Almeida & a wing-man that seems to be pretty talented in Terran Petteway. I guess we'll all have to wait & see the 2 P's and Biggs in the new arena along with the 3 rookies.

It was interesting for a while... but, yes, let's play ball! Tomorrow's NU at MSU ballgame at 5 p.m. can not come soon enough~

Need to make the N a little smaller. Or even more preferably....the state outline.

We should replace the N with a giant swoosh at half court. That'll REALLY get the recruits' attention. We'll be swimming in 8-star guys in no time.
