    Head Coach: Greg Gard
    Location: Madison, WI
    Conference: B1G
    Nickname: Badgers

    Mascot: Bucky Badger
    Line: Wisconsin by 15.5

    Typical Rotation Depth: 9

    KenPom rank: 3

    Key Injuries: None

Beginning of the Banton triple-double watch: A noteworthy accomplishment in the young career of Dalano Banton was the true freshman putting up 8 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in a Western Kentucky win over the Badgers back in 2018.

    Players to watch:   Nate Reuvers

The Senior is another in the line of mobile Wisconsin centers who can make 3s. Additionally he's an excellent shot blocker. This Wisconsin team shares the ball well but Potter and Reuvers tend to take to take the most shots.

    Players to watch:       Micah Potter

Potter is complimentary to Reuvers as he's more girth and rebounding to Reuvers' rim protecting. Like everyone from Wisconsin he shoots 3s and also does damage drawing contact inside.

Wisconsin starts 5 seniors and possesses one of the older and taller rosters in Div 1.

    • Brad Davison is like that old joke where someone lists off this great list of accomplishments and then the punchline is bemoaning the fact that they're noted for something terrible.  Davison is excellent on defense, can bail Wisconsin out when the shot clock is running down and by all accounts is a great teammates.  We just know him as the guy who flops and hits people in the junk.
    • Trice is your typical Wisconsin don't turn the ball over/make shot clock beating 3s PG and excels in the pick and roll.
    • Ford functions as a David Rivers type of glue guy, splitting time between the 3 and 4 as necessary.
    • Senior guard Trevor Anderson spells Trice at PG
    • True Freshman wing Johnathan Davis has been impressive and has grabbed plenty of minutes coming off the bench at the 2 and 3
    • Tyler Wahl is filling minutes in the post and has a Reuvers type skillset
    • Freshmen posts Steven Crowl and Ben Carlson are end of the bench post players

    Nebraska Pressers

Game was moved from Monday to Tuesday as Wisconsin had their Louisville game moved to Saturday and the league asked Nebraska if they would agree to move it.  We were Nebraska nice and agreed. The Husker players both talked about 'putting in work early' in regards to the Badger bigs cutting to the rim.

    The Skinny:

Wisconsin was in the midst of a somewhat middling season last year when Kobe King quit the team.  The Badgers rallied around this and a friendly schedule to win a share of the B1G title.  The Badgers bring back most everyone from that team and is an unlucky bounce away from coming into this game undefeated.

Nebraska will need to hope that pummeling a NAIA school has increased their grasp of their half court offense as Wisconsin is very much a get back on defense sort of team. Without human fast break seeking torpedo Haanif Cheatham this year's Husker squad can't spam those buckets.  The Badgers have discipline and length and will try to funnel Nebraska into either a mid-range jumper or a shot blocker. Can Nebraska drivers draw fouls and/or hit guys in the corners for 3s?

Offensively for the Badgers you'll have post players on the perimeter and guards driving to the lane so it will be noteworthy to see how Nebraska defends when their traditional bigs are in the game as they become ripe for abuse when they end up on the perimeter.  Realistically the Huskers are just going to need to hope that Wisconsin is cold from long range.  That's most likely the difference between having a shot in this one vs getting to know the end of the Badger bench.

    Prediction: Wisconsin 83 - Nebraska 67

Good write up. The only minor quibble I'd have is that Wahl and Reuvers (who went to the same high school, but 2 years apart) aren't quite the same skill set. Reuvers is more skilled shooter, and Wahl is more of an athlete/energizer bunny. Wahl can also guard just about any position - he's a handy guy to have, except for shooting.
