Purdue was good on defense today and the Huskers just didn't have an answer.  A couple of days of practice with the new lineup should yield a better offensive performance against IU.  It would be tough for any team to lose two starters and play well.

agree with much of what your saying---------but, huskers are not very deep. especially if you have to look for offense.

and some of the passing----and not just from the ones who haven't seen many minutes. my gosh. huskers looked like they had never stepped on the same court before.

i'm sure it was tough news for the team about KC, then, learn you will be without RT-------but, still thought they would play better.

Will be a long rest of the season if Rachel T can't make it back on the floor. We need to install a sense of urgency from here on out. Never thought I'd see us go from the best passing team the past few years in the B1G to one of the worst. We used to pass the ball and it never stopped till it found the open shot now it's just the opposite.

Would have been nice to see more minutes from Emily Wood and Darrian Washington.

Kind of embarrassing with 7 minutes left in the game down by 12 and the masses started to file out.

game balls go to RB43 and to Anya. Burns for the way she was getting into the heads of the purdue players and blocks. And Anya for her scoring. Thought that maybe Yori would play her a bit more than she did the second half.

Hey Fastbreaker get off your high and mighty and let a few things sink in.  The suddenness of this all happening was obviously a big shock to the team.  It's been obvious that we way over played Rachael Theriot for about two years before her injury last year.  That had to take a toll especially to a player that has had some ankle problems as far back as a freshman.  One could say that we had to since we just didn't have enough depth.  When that happens over that amount of a time it comes down to partly the fault of the head coach.  We must have obviously known that Kendall was having problems reflected in her play.  I have absolutely great admiration for both of them and their big hearts and effort.  My problem is more with the way we build depth.

Tonight we saw the importance of RT & KC, and how they stabilize the teams play. That's pretty much why at least one of them, in the past, was in the game almost always.

Next year we'll see the same team less Anya...plus any newbies.

Those newbies include some very good players.

And they'll have to be. The 2016 class is crucial to the next 5 years of the program.

I'm sorry, but after looking at the two previous posts,  if I ever see another post bitching about Kyndal or Rachel, I 'm going to go postal.  Most of you in this forum have no idea what a sacrifice these athletes do for our pleasure.

am i missing something? who is bitching about KC and/or RT?

One thing that caught my attention was said yesterday by Connie after the game that Rachel and Kyndal are the only two that practiced all year at point guard.

I know you usually don't go three deep, but when both of them are really only playing on one foot and shot knees maybe somebody should have been changed to be the number two point.

Just thought that was interesting to say that.

Connie obviously believed the two would be able to handle the season, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out.  We just didn't have a clone of RT.

Cincore did play the point one game, didn't she? We don't have another point guard ready, so like it or not, it's time to adjust.

Didn't realize Kyndal's knees were in that bad. She needs months off, and rehab time. You've got to think she really hates to call it quits. Tough deal.

Same for RT...hope she can get back this year, but only if it won't mean some permanent damage.

I would guess it will Cincore at point here on out. She's had the most experience. She will do things different than RT, so the whole team will just have to adjust....and will have a few days to work on it. Nat is too valuable a scorer, to work the point.

They were all caught off guard without much notice, and had no chance to get used to the idea of both RT & KC gone. The bench will have to step up, and everyone will probably get a lot more floor time. Which will help them for next year.

Speaking of next year we have at least two PG's that look to be great candidates...and they will have to learn quickly.

So, we have what we have. I's just been kind of a crazy year...most are though... I suppose.

Pretty sure the team has the capability to regather their chemistry, and move forward for the balance of the year.

Prior to yesterday, Jasmine had a couple of very nice games.  She was very effective against Michigan State. It is interesting to watch the difference between a complimentary role, and when one is running the show.  She really struggled yesterday taking on the extra responsibilities.  Not her fault as she isn't a natural point and was thrust into the situation.  But it does show how what happens out there is more difficult than many an average fan thinks....

Take a look at this very short clip...  Purdue's #24 cuts through the Huskers' on-court huddle.  Rachel gives #24 a push and lets her know with a few choice words that cutting through the Huskers' huddle is unacceptable.

Please let me know if this link is inop.  If it works...  Take a look at this very short clip...  Purdue's #24 cuts through the Huskers' on-court huddle.  Rachel gives #24 a push and lets her know, with a few choice words, that cutting through the Huskers' huddle is unacceptable.

She also got into it with Purdue's #13.  Rachel tripped and almost fell.  #13 found it funny and laughed out loud.  Rachel said she gave #13 a nice hip check at the next opportunity.

She was saying at dinner how she'd love to hear the other teams' locker rooms and what they say about her... "B" word and so forth...  She imagines it's very disparaging.  She's good with that. The other day she watched ESPN's 30 for 30...  "I hate Christian Laettner"  She plans to mirror Laettner.  She knows she'll have to do much better at the offensive end of the court.  With respect to (WRT) that...  The players have off-hours access to the practice facility... Saturday night she was there and practiced shooting.

Yep, the clip works.   What's with walking through our huddle ???  ...what a clown

And glad to see Burns can go at it hard now.  We need all the determination we can get a hold of for the remainder of the season.

Yes, noticed some of the snarky stuff going on with Purdue. I do remember that time Burns almost took a tumble. Didn't have a chance to really see what happened, but knew something must have happened beforehand.
