ajb5856 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Another 2014 target. 6'8" point forward. Top prospect out of Arizona. Looks like he would fit in the Miles offense. He is blowing up. Offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, Boise St, New Mexico, Oregon State, and Utah. Syracuse, Gonzaga, Memphis, Kentucky, Georgetown, UNLV, Michigan, Cal, NC State, Indiana, and Nebraska have shown interest recently. I wonder if this is a target Miles was involved with at CSU, thus the Colorado State offer. Quote
hskr4life Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 a 6'8" player that can shoot, dribble, pass, dunk, steal, ummm I think we can find a spot for him. Quote

Neebrasketball Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Kenny Cheatham's son by chance? Kenny was from Arizona and Zylan would have been born when Kenny was in college. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 This kid is from Pheonix. Â Former Husker wideout Kenny Cheatham was also from Pheonix. Â Same spelling. Â Wonder if there's any connection. Â (Probably lots of Cheathams in AZ who aren't related to each other and this kid would be too young to be Kenny's kid. Â Unless Kenny got started pretty young.) Norm Peterson Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Wow, got beat to the punch by only about 4 hours.  In fairness, I had the thread  pulled up before Neebrasketball's post and just now had the opportunity to respond.  So, I didn't see his until AFTER I posted mine.  But, still, a little late on that one, I was. Norm Peterson Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 According to 24/7 sports, he has an offer from Memphis. Â A Kentucky hoops blug says that he's on Calipari's radar as well. Â http://kycatstats.com/zylan-cheatham-is-a-new-name-on-kentuckys-radar/Â Quote

ajb5856 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Here's the old thread on Zylan. Nebraska offered 2014 Westwind Prep (AZ) forward Zylan Cheatham yesterday. Purdue offered earlier in the week. from TweetDeck Quote

Norm Peterson Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Now, point of clarification. Is it "official" when Robin Washut tweets it? Or is it only official if Brian Rosenthal tweets it? I'm kinda fuzzy on this one. Quote
ajb5856 Posted March 20, 2013 Author Report Posted March 20, 2013 Cheatham sounds legit. I'll take some 6-8 point forwards. He sounds like a smart kid. Lots of offers out west and he will blow up fast being #68 for Rivals 2014. For those who don't subscribe, he wants to commit and sign on his birthday, Novbember 17th. Quote
ajb5856 Posted March 20, 2013 Author Report Posted March 20, 2013 I'm also glad we now have assistants that can run iPads to show off what Nebraska has to offer. Can anyone imagine David Anwar breaking out an iPad I'm front of a recruit? Quote

HF_ Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 This guy looks to have really good length and athleticism. Â Reminds me of Durant...obviously not as skilled, but in terms of body type and athleticism. Â Seems like he gets off the floor with very little effort. Quote

Reminds me of Durant...obviously not as skilled, but in terms of body type and athleticism. Seems like he gets off the floor with very little effort. Exactly. Looks like one of those guys that isn't really trying, just kind of glides around. Durant is exactly who I thought of. Not a comparison of talent, just the idea of a point forward. A 6-8 bringing the ball up the floor. Something that's seen in the NBA, not so much in the college ranks. Quote

He said they are trying to build a program running gun, play above the rim stuff like that. He loves my athleticism, he loves my passion for the game.
