I from what I have seen of  Minny this season, their inside game is fairly light. They are a guard loaded  team. You suppose they asking the same about Jess in how are they going to stop her?

to be honest, the way things are going, minnesota will have better luck slowing jess than the huskers will in slowing down their guards. i am really concerned thursday could be pretty ugly. just don't know how they can do it at the Barn. too much firepower with those gophers.

if clark isn't having much luck, do you try simon? something i would really consider. i imagine cincore would be next in line after clark, but, maybe try simon. maybe her length might slow her down at least a bit. i would expect banham will get around 30, but, if you can limit others to below their average, huskers might have a shot-------might.

Banham will be difficult for any player given the assignment but Carlie Wagner is a player as well.  NU will have to outscore Minnesota to win because we won't be able to stop them.  Ohio St. looked scary good tonight in whipping Maryland at home.  B1G is tough!

that's just the thing about minnesota this year-----you have wagner and banham to worry about, but, they have others that are certainly capable of knocking down three's or driving to the basket. hedstrom, bailey, and mullaney have the ability to go off on any given night.

minnesota has a very good shot at finishing 11-7. just might be good enough to keep them in the #4 position in the big ten---as i start looking at the rest of the big ten schedule as a whole, if the rest of the teams "beat up" on each other, i am starting to wonder if the big ten might just get 4 in the ncaa's? i know charlie creme has predicted 5 with one coach from big ten predicting 6.

I'd argue that the MN game is a "must win" if the NCAA Tournament is the goal (and it is)...

The schedule:

14 Feb:  MI State:  Tough to beat

18 Feb:  OSU:  They beat MD (the only hope is that they think they can just roll the ball out and win...  Romeo would have to be on fire for any hope of an upset.

21 Feb: Purdue:  Must win

24 Feb: IN:  Must win

28 Feb: NW:  Must win

This team turns the ball over so much.  I'm not out there on the court, but darn...  some of the passes are head scratchers.

Here is what I'll never understand.  I asked my girl if she/they watched the MD vs. OSU game... It seems especially germane since UNL plays OSU in just over a week.  The short response... No...  I'm thinking...  wow... You're a sports fanatic...  How could you not watch the enemy play?  Understand class and freshman study barracks and the like... and I haven't walked in her shoes.  Maybe it's basketball "tracer burnout."  Whatever...  it seems strange from an outsider.

Agree every game from here on out is absolutely critical...One at a time..first being Minn. It's a game by game deal now. Just not sure which NU team will show up. Maybe we're just a little fatigued....mentally and otherwise.

Surely we have woke up from our last game debacle. Like you, I see probably at least four that are very possible wins, if not maybe another. The last three are at home, so the home crowd will help.

Watched the OSU and ILL game a week or so ago, and OSU played "down" to ILL's level and barely won.

Maybe Burns practices and plays so much...and has tons of studying to do, and is little disappointed a little with the injuries. So not interested in watching another game? Just want's to chill a bit? I can get that.

Turnovers??  thought we might have a better handle on it by now....but....?? ....talked about it endlessly.

If it doesn't turn out so well to get into NCAA's....sure would be real happy to see them in NIT. Looking back at what all we had to do this year to rebuild from last year....kind of understandable that it's been a rough road at times.

Currently team is sitting at 16-7 record. If we finish 3-3 sitting at 19-10 heading into big ten tourney, how many wins do you guys think we need to make it to NCAA tournament? Will 20 wins be enough?

believe smckewon stated the same thing-21 wins. coatney stated 11BT wins to be safe.

sidenote on minny: comments from charlie creme in article from StarTrib

ESPN’s Charlie Creme, who projects the women’s NCAA tournament field, is not bullish on the Gophers’ chances. He said via Twitter that the Gophers’ strength of schedule has hurt them, adding no team ever has received an at-large bid with an RPI as low as 87, the Gophers’ ranking on Monday.

“Not even close to that low, in fact,” Creme tweeted.
