basketballjones Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Logan Strom picked up a Boston Univ. offer. It's his 15th D1 basketball offer. I just, really, feel like these are the guys who stay 4 (maybe even 5 with a redshirt) years and are just solid studs as juniors and seniors. He's got a great jump shot, and really good face-up game in the post and pro post. Quote
khoock Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I'm far from a talent scout but idk why we would offer him. He's only 6'7 so I don't see him as Jordys back up and I don't think he is good enough to take PT away from Morrow, Horne, or Jacobson who all will have 2-3 years of eligibility left by the time Strom is in college. khoock Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 That being said, in a world where everyone wants to play right away and be a star I do think in state players are more likely to redshirt and develop compared to out of state 4 star recruits. Which is important bc next year our rotation will basically be the same aside from Tai's gaurd minutes. Quote
basketballjones Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 UNO offer.Good choice on their part Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 I'd like us to offer him. He's another Jacobson. I've been pretty damned happy with Jacobson. Very similar body types/skillsets. Quote

I agree with this, he must have made some big strides this summer. Great for him, hope he picks UNO so I can go watch him in action. Quote
Chuck Taylor Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 Jacobson is big enough and athletic enough that he can provide some minutes at 5. Strom is strictly a 4 and we already have more than we need. Can't see any way we'd offer. Quote
khoock Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 Just committed to UC-DAVIS today. Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted September 22, 2016 Author Report Posted September 22, 2016 I think he chose UC-Davis over Indiana State and Denver U. I believe the Huskers wanted him to walk-on. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 That will be a good fit for him; although, I would have loved to have him walk on here. bobcat402 1 Quote
bobcat402 Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 good fit, but i think husker football would've been a good fit as well but best of luck to him! Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 Hmm, just learned today that this kid is a relative of mine. Who woulda thunk it. Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted May 1, 2018 Author Report Posted May 1, 2018 MikeSautterOWH Breaking news on a Monday night. Former Norfolk standout Logan Strom is transferring from UC-Davis to Nebraska Omaha. Strom will sit one year and have three years remaining of eligibility. Pretty good get for Omaha. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 I believe he will have sat out two straight years. Quote
Chuck Taylor Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 Correct, he redshirted this season. Always thought that was a strange choice for him, seemed like a great fit for the Summit. Davis isn't on the ocean, so there wasn't that draw. Quote

Man... I never disagreed with you when you responded about this. And now all three of those guys are gone, haha. Quote
aphilso1 Posted June 24, 2020 Report Posted June 24, 2020 Very odd career path thus far for Strom, who apparently now is transferring to Weber State for football. He has now redshirted at two different schools in basketball, and will be trying his hand at football without ever playing a minute of collegiate basketball. This only came up on my radar because I now live in Ogden, UT, which is the home of Weber State. I saw in the newspaper that he was trasferring here and I thought "hey, I know that name..." Quote

I hope he has things worked out now and can focus on school. He actually has an incredibly high ceiling in football but just did not have the mindset and liked hoops a lot more. Rumor was Pelini wanted to offer him as a frosh after one of their camps. Quote
