Swan88 Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 But at least we aren't paying good money to read such stuff. P.S. I've read some of the stuff at those places in the parts you don't have to pay for. I hope the paid basketball content is markedly better This site beats that one by 110%, as they say. What we get on the paid site for Nebrasketball is Robin Washut's input--and that's valuable. The problem, it seems to me, with the paid site is that it includes a bunch of Husker football fans who root for other basketball teams. So, the negative grief there toward Nebrasketball is significant. And it usually comes in the form of anti-Nebrasketball posters masquerading as Nebrasketball fans being "realistic" and "not sugar-coating" things. Hence, you have to pay there to read the many posts trashing Nebrasketball at every negative turn in the road. One reason I love this site is the lesser volume of anti-Nebrasketball posters. If that changes much, it could go the same way as the aforementioned "parts you don't have to pay for." Silverbacked1, hhcmatt, AuroranHusker and 1 other 4 Quote

If that changes much, it could go the same way as the aforementioned "parts you don't have to pay for." Even on the free side "over there" you get Mr. Internet Badass mocking and ridiculing posters he disagrees with. And the mods allow it. So, like Miles says, you get what you tolerate. And that's the level of discourse you get over there. I hope and I pray that whether you're a realist or an optimist or a pessimist or relatively indifferent, that you at least allow for the fact that reasonable people can differ. I don't mind Creighton fans coming over here to post so long as they use a reasonable tone. It's not that people here all love the coach or the players or that we're all optimists that sets this board apart. It's that we don't seem to have posters who feel a need to belittle other posters. Perfect example: KLDM and I disagree fairly often, I think. The other day, he (I assume he and not she) took me to task about calling Walt Pitchford a quitter. But the tone he took was totally fair and not bombastic or belittling or condescending or snide. He just made his point and that was it. I hope we're able to maintain that kind of dialogue here. It's not that we all agree. It's that when we don't agree, we don't feel the need to "win" by ridiculing the person we're debating against. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

jason2486 Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 There are two guys (currently on roster) who do not get along. One is a starter, the other is a transfer. The starter has a problem with the transfer because the transfer dominated him on practice. Where did you hear this? An actual source or just speculation? Not saying you're wrong, just curious about the situation. Quote

Luckily for us, there is no conflict of interest here....this is a Nebraska basketball site for Nebraska basketball fans. There's exceptions both ways for that...guys that are fans that can't co-exist with anyone to the occasional fan of another teams that offers valuable insight into their team. I think their is plenty of room here to be critical of the program in a measured and thoughtful manner that doesn't come off as Nebrasketball bashing and I personally appreciate it when guys make that effort. lanigan123 Posted April 3, 2015 Report Posted April 3, 2015 The Harris kid from Providence would help. I really like the receuiting that is happening so far for the next 3 years. I think Roby is a player. I think we are in it for a quality big next year and who knows what happens with Kezo. Nebraska will be better next year. Quote
