becher33 Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Just wondering, are these games going to be televised or not? Quote
colhusker Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 I would go to Huskers.com and check. Quote

hhcmatt Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 As far as I know, there is absolutely no television coverage of this tourney. You can't even buy a crappy web feed. Quote
HuskerFever Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Here is the direct link to the official tournament page: http://www.sunbowl.org/game-a-events/don-haskins-sun-bowl-invitational However, I can't find anything mentioning anything about televised games. Doesn't look good. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Watched a bit of the Oregon/UTEP game. UTEP is running a box and 1, Oregon is having trouble. If Oregon would have played this way against us we might of had a chance that night. Quote
Cheap Seat Perspective Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 From Shamus McKnight our basketball SID's twitter page, he says games are radio only. Quote

That is a bummer, when we were in the Big 12 I was able to watch every game with dish network, admittedly sometimes they were pretty obscure channels (I remember one was on the Texas Tech University network and it looked like it was being recorded and aired with an iPhone.) hhcscott Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 I'm sitting in the Hilton four blocks from the Don Haskins Center. Tickets for section T row one were $20 bucks a day so $40 gets me into all 4 games. Five hour drive from Tucson for us to get here but we did not get a mariachi welcome. Of course we didn't have to come through a blizzard either. We had a lovely dinner at a near-campus place called Crave Kitchen and are going boot shopping today at the local boot makers for the wife. I get hoops she gets boots. Quote
cipsucks Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Scott, we expect live updates from the game. You can give boot updates, too, if you'd like. Don't try the salsa down there. You'll be disappointed. After cipsalsa, everything else falls a little short..... Quote
jimmykc Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Check out the view from Skyline drive after dark if you have time. And do not , repeat DO NOT, plan to see the sights in Juarez while you are there. Quote

The only boots she has are ones she picked up at a mall. The idea of getting her some custom fitted, locally made, boots has her all excited about the trip. (To be fair she sat next to me and cheered on our Husker hoops teams from 1990-94 so she's happy to be going to the games as well) Quote
hhcscott Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Cip, I agree on the salsa but you need to add a chipotle aoli to your holiday gift pack because they made the tenderloin tacos to die for. ;-) I know your stake in the beef industry (pun intended) makes you a big fan of all things con carne. No interest in Juarez. Living in Tucson I made some border town visits before safety became a real problem. It's a damn shame people have to live in fear for their safety. Quote

jimmykc Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 hhscott: Tell your wife that my Tony Lamas lasted more than twenty years and were worn lots. I used to have a poncho like my avatar wore in his spaghetti westerns and wear them together. My own wife, who once talked to Clint for a few minutes, disposed of both items when I began to resemble Jack Elam more than Clint. (I'm making none of this up) Quote
