We need to get Sinclair back into rhythm and then have Kubat and Burkamper pitch like last weekend.  If we get the quality pitching, I like our chances.  Perhaps not to win, but we should be in a position to win.

With KFAB joining the game today in progress at 6 PM (so someone can listen to Chris Baker rant)...I once again rejoice in the switch to the new broadcasters come July 1. Can't happen soon enough.

4-0 in the 9th and Roeder has a bad outing; we hang on to win 4-3.  An upset tomorrow could really help the RPI.

Thank goodness the Huskers stopped the bleeding. Competing in the other 2 games against 14-0 A&M and 12-1 LSU is tough enough w/o dropping the ball vs Hawai'i~!

Could have won today; bad base running and some tough luck on the Reveles double play ball.  Hope we don't look back at this one in May.

I hope Erstad took note when watching LSU.  Speed kills.  And that's certainly something we appear to be lacking in.  Which is surprising considering Erstad's comments in the past.  Overall pitching has been great though and that should get us quite a bit of wins in the Big Ten.  Important home stretch coming up, time to rack up some wins.

HB, huskerbaseball13...have either of you guys heard how the arm status is with Jake Hohansee? I had read that he could return this weekend a while back, is that still an option or will we have to wait a little longer?

Haven't heard, but he was in uniform on the bench this week.  Did not notice if he went out to the pen yesterday.

I thought I heard Greg and Lane say he was about a week away.

He was the designated foul ball shagger today.  Didn't go to the pen

Lane Grindle said today that Hohansee has a chance to pitch in the mid week or maybe next week end.

Sorry, I have not heard.  My guess is they are taking things slow which is smart.  We will need him down the stretch.

Good sweep this weekend.

Baseball is an interesting game.  It can tend to lull players into a false sense of security.  Players get that "I just need to show up" thingy going on, perhaps more easily than just about any other sport.  Glad to see Erstad light them up during the game yesterday.

Erstad is not a guy I would want to piss off.  That's for sure.  I think it may have been last year when we were playing KSU and we were going thru the motions, bad at bats...errors, missed signals...and he looked like he wanted to murder someone.  I get the sense though that when he talks, the players listen.  It certainly didn't feel or look that way with Anderson at the helm.

Two game series with Indiana State.  Hoping to go 2-0 but wouldn't surprise to see us drop 1.  Tough relying on two freshman during the midweek.  I like our chances vs the Wolverines this weekend though.

Great games this weekend...much better yet to come! So, ask yourself, what is good/acceptable for the next 5 game home stand?

For me, win 3 and I am in heaven...2 is very acceptable...above and below are exciting/disappointing...big week for the Huskers.

It's good to be climbing back to the relevant world!

Winning 2 and losing 3 are "very acceptable"? These teams are traditionally strong, but neither is elite this year by any sense of the word. Indiana swept a weekend series from Fullerton at home. And these are home games for us. I will be disappointed with only 2 wins.

Over .500 the next 5 games would be very nice.  I think it's clear at the very least this team is a regional type team again....the results from the next 5 games and the series at Maryland may decide on if we host or not.  I feel pretty good about our chances at home against Texas.  A bit concerned with our midweek freshmen going against Fullerton.  Fullerton is always deep with great pitching.  It would be nice if Jake Hoensee could get a midweek start and give us 5-6 solid innings.
