Dean Smith Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Wisconsin v Arizona - the officiating was atrocious . I felt the officials were very influenced by the home crowd. There was no way any view showed conclusively that last oob was off Wisconsin. The offensive foul on the second to last possession might have been the only close call to go the badgers way and that probably should have been a no call. There is a reason it has earned the name Marxh Madness Absolutely agree. I can't really think of any sport where I believe instant replay is really an overall asset to the game. Yes, they might occasionally reverse a call and get it "correct" but, mostly, they just disrupt and distract from the game. Great game in overtime and the officials kill it at the end by looking at a monitor for 5 minutes. The view didn't change, take a look, have a conversation and make a call - 1 minute tops. And then as Charles Barkley says, "After all of that, I don[t think they got it right." Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Well, B1G teams are now 1-3 in games Karl Hess tried to ref/ruin a ballgame... Quote

Norm Peterson Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 @RobinWashut: Hopefully #B1G follows suit MT @DavidGlennShow: Multiple sources say ACC is ending its relationship with controversial BB official Karl Hess Dude clearly has no business calling NCAA tourney games. Thank you, Jay Bilas, for leading this charge. Bugeaters1 1 Quote

KarlHessEatMy.... Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Thank you Lord!!! Tired of this guy ref-ing my two favorite teams UCONN and Nebraska!!! I hope the B1G and AAC follows along with this. Quote
HuskerCager Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Watch him land in the Big Ten (n-o-o-o-o-o-h!!!)What I don't get, if he was so controversial and sub-par, how did he manage to get selected in the NCAA tourney? Isn't the tourney supposed to select the cream of the crop? Quote
KarlHessEatMy.... Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 I find that weird to. The one game they did this year when Nebraska played Florida State and the one game they did for UCONN this year. The ESPN announcers all say that we have a final four caliber referee squad here today... But every game they do there is always drama no matter what. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2015/01/09/5435737/acc-terminates-relationship-with.html His actions have told me that he believes he is bigger than the game. There have been other referee's and umpires that have been fallen into this same mindset. Quote
jimmykc Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Karma. After all the guy he yelled at is from India. Quote
