Stiltz Guy Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Can someone please enlighten me on the intrigue with playing Pitchford so many minutes? Quote
KearneyMan Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 It puzzles me to. Pitcholford, Shields, and Gallegos are to inconsistent!!!!! Quote
MichHusker Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I think pitchford has actually been playing a bit better recently minus his sick game against OSU Quote
colhusker Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 For as good as Shields and Ray were last year they seem to have gone backwards this year. We need both of them to step up. Quote
a0t0w0 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 And who do you suggest fills his spot? Not exactly loaded with guys over 6'8. Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I thought Pitch played pretty well tonight. He was not just content on staying at the 3 point line. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 KearneyMan and Stiltz Guy in the SAME THREAD? How cool is THAT? Silverbacked1, hhcmatt and 49r 3 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Kind of like a Big Foot riding a unicorn down "O" street. 49r 1 Quote
Concrete Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 This was by far Pitchford's best game of the season, IMO. He didn't grab a lot of boards, but he prevented a lot of putbacks for Michigan which hasn't been the case this season. I think he's coming along pretty well all things considered. Quote
kldm64 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 Can someone please enlighten me on the intrigue with playing Pitchford so many minutes? Do you have a better option? Can't replace him with a guard so don't have many other choices. The biggest gripe people have with Pitchford is he's not a true post player. That is correct as he's much more of a outside player. If we had another true post player besides Smith, people wouldn't be so upset with him not playing a positon that he isn't comfortable at. Quote

Agreed, he has played much better of late, minus the game where he was ill. He still plays a bit small, but you can tell he's working at being tougher inside. Keep in mind he's only a soph who played very little at Florida in his freshman year. Quote
