  1. NIT is not acceptable. We need an NCAA berth! Pick up your expectations! Lets get in!
  2. Doc does deserve some credit for landing these guys, but let's call a spade a spade and acknowledge that these guys developed under Miles. 2 role players and an above average SF for sure. Sorry, but i just don't have much confidence that they would have developed offensively under Doc. His track record here shows otherwise. Props to coach Miles.
  3. We really would like MSU to be less beatable so that our win looks stellar on the resume. The more Ls that pile up, the more it hurts us IMO.
  4. 3 must wins? Only if youre thinking NIT Norm. Most dont even have us on the bubble yet, and you think 3 wins gets us there. Wrong. Itll take at least 4, maybe 5.
  5. One thing that I like about Tim is that he isn't afraid to promote Creighton as an important rival and team to beat. If we can consistently beat them (even in Omaha), then we can officially take back our rightful place on top of the state. Tim embraces the rivalry and sees it as a must win. Collier and Sadler feared it, never wanting to prioritize the matchup (probably for fear of not beating them, see Collier's record v Altman = scary bad). We have to have the confidence as a program to not fear them as a rival. I believe that we will be good enough someday as a program to take them down year after year, but you have to work towards that to get there. Miles gets that.
  6. He said on 1620 that we need to win big against Penn St and Purdue. Close wins will not likely be enough at 4-1 in remaining games to get us in. That being said, I think we focus on blowing both teams out, maybe try a little full court pressure to turn the game into a high scoring affair.
  7. I call it like I see it, if that is some kind of board crime, then I'm guilty I guess. I thought it was an accurate depiction of the difference in offensive confidence between Mile's teams and Doc's. It was actually more of a prop of Mile's using recent historical context to give the comment a little basis for the lack of offensive confidence we've seen here in the past decade plus. Refreshing to see a new offensive mindset, and a little success. Sorry it crawled under your thin skin.
  8. That's the difference. We are primed and ready to be aggressive at this point in the season. That's where we want to be. Miles allows Petteway to be the most confident player on the court, and look at the payoff. Just imagine Petteway firing off a 3 in a 1 on 4 break and missing like he did today if he was playing under Sadler. He would have been yanked never to be seen again, and not there willing us to the win. Miles is doing a tremendous job. Lets stay confident and win out.
  9. Stick with Gallegos says Silverbacked! Man, i can see what the last 15 years have done to fan basketball knowledge
  10. Miles just cant understand that Gallegos cant be in there now
  11. Coaching point here, Gallegos is not confident right now, coach needs to use him as a decoy only. No shots or bench.
  12. You have a positive, healthy attitude. Step 1 is in believing we can win. We can!
  13. Doc's flaw was his own emotion and lack of offensive understanding. He thought that shoving needed offensive talent on the bench for games at a time was a good way of showing them who's boss. Nevermind that true scorers like Petteway need some leash in order to be true scorers. Petteway would be 1/2 of the player he is under Sadler, mostly due to fear of being benched for a quick shot or aggressive drive that turned into a turnover. Sadler's own flaws doomed him into failure, and made NU unattractive to even kids in state or Sioux City. I won't mention a certain German lad that had a few offensive skills of his own that Sadler didn't harness, and are now being enjoyed by another program. Miles doesn't have these flaws, in fact, he is rather liberal with his leash, and scorers are now confident.
