I, like Norm, would much rather go after a higher caliber player. The only way Nebraska is going to reach a higher level than they have been at over the last 15 years, is to get higher quality players. Players on the same level as Agau. That said, if Miles has to grab a few guys to get through the next year or two that are on a lower level, then I think it is better to get a juco player, because they are probably a little more physically mature than kids coming right out of highschool and they will only fill a spot for 2 years, instead of 4 years. That way Miles can hit the 2015 class hard.

Serious question: what makes anyone think this guy isn't better than Agau? He's taller and a better athlete.. looks like a shotblocker too.. only difference is he's a JUCO.

I've watched film on both. I'd take Gaskins all day if it was right now. Agau is a better recruit, perhaps, because he's a freshman... I get that.

The difference likely isn't in the level of talent. Two things stand out to me though:

1. Akoy will be a freshman next year, Gaskins will be a Junior. It would seem to me that Akoy has more potential

2. Akoy is a local kid. We need to start winning the battles for the top talent coming out of Nebraska...

There are some bad ways to get out of the service. There are also some not quite as bad ways. Back in the day, a DUI was a bar to reinlistment at the very least. Have a hot pee test, though, and you were done. Even trace THC on that urinalysis and you kiss your career sionara. Not saying that's what happened with him but I can say that it would be a pretty fast one-way ticket out of the service. Back at that time, though, he could also have posted pictures of Justin Bieber on his Facebook page and that probably would have done it, too.
