ajb5856 Posted May 22, 2013 Author Report Posted May 22, 2013 Please basketball gods, just one time. “From what I’ve heard, (Tigers coach Josh) Pastner is a good guy,” Woodson said. “I’ve heard it looks like they need another big, and I can play an important role and have a chance to earn some minutes. I just like what I’ve heard.” Woodson, a four-star prospect according to Rivals.com, said he is considering Memphis, Marshall, Rhode Island, Nebraska, Gonzaga, and more. He said he’d like to visit Memphis and decide shortly after. He averaged 5.8 points and 6.1 rebounds last season on a loaded Huntington Prep squad that included No. 1 ranked recruit Andrew Wiggins. Isn't he talking about Memphis here? Yes he is talking about Memphis. But the article also lists the schools he is considering. Nice of him to at least mention Nebraska even though he makes it sound like he is going to visit Memphis and then make a decision. Quote

If this is his list, then I really hope Miles is recruiting the crap out of him. In my opinion: --Nebraska offers the most of any of these schools --New arena that is already completely sold out --Top notch practice/training facilities --A chance to go up against the best-of-the-best in the Big Ten, #1 basketball conference in the country --A chance to play in HUGE games against highly ranked teams --I would imagine that Nebraska will play 7-10 games vs ranked teams next season --5 Sweet 16 teams coming to play at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena --"Dunk City" is coming to town --He will likely be able to start from day 1 --Winning an NCAA tournament game will not be "just another season", but would probably get his jersey retired at Nebraska (I think this is probably hyperbole, but I can't say that for sure) Marshall: Conference USA Memphis: Conference USA Rhode Island: Atlantic 10 (losing some of their best teams, which are heading to the "new big east") Gonzaga: West Coast Conference Keeping my fingers crossed, even though the past definitely does not set precedent for something like this to happen for Nebraska basketball. I guess, Fool me once...shame on you...fool me twice...shame on me...if the rug gets pulled out from under me on this one, then shame on me... Quote

ajb5856 Posted May 23, 2013 Author Report Posted May 23, 2013 Nebraska isn't even mentioned in this article: http://cincyontheprowl.com/2013/05/22/cincinnati-bearcats-recruiting-dominic-woodsons-destination-still-unknown/ I read that article and the writer admittedly states that they have no idea what to believe when pulling different lists from here and there. Nobody really knows what's going on for sure with Dominic. The situation is fluid, obviously. I've read the most about his pending visit to Memphis and that he plans to decide shortly after the visit. So in my opinion, which means nothing, Memphis is the leader. The writer of the Memphis article that I posted earlier in the day at least made it sound like Woodson was quoted saying which schools he was considering. On the list he gave was Nebraska. I thought that this was a positive. Who knows where we actually are with him but I took it as a positive that he at least mentioned us. All of the other lists and reports floating around on twitter are 'sources close to the situation' or 'a source close to his mentor' or 'somebody told me'. So who really knows? I think we are just going to have to wait for a couple days to see if we are shut out or if Tim Miles and Co are making any progress with him. Quote

Nebrasketballer Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 I'm pretty sure that Rivals does their final rankings after the basketball season. They still thought he was good enough to rank him a 4-Star, #9 Center, #80 overall prospect in the 2013 class. Same with ESPN, and they sill thought he was good enough to rank him a 4-Star, #12 Center, #90 overall prospect in the 2013 class. Scout ranked him as a 4-Star, #11 Center, #88 overall prospect in the 2013 class. I think it's safe to say that the kid can ball... Quote
