Cookie Belcher Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Now ranked 89 in the Rivals 150 and a 4 star. Would love to land him.
ajb5856 Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 @TheBluejayCafe: According to 2014 Wing Leon Gilmore @3LeeLee_, he is close to cutting his offer list down. #Creighton will be on that list "for sure"
ajb5856 Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 According to his rivals page he has high interest in UNLV and Nebraska and medium interest for the rest of his offers. I don't know when this was last updated though. He doesn't even list an offer from Creighton on rivals so it might be dated info. http://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/basketball/recruiting/player-Leon-Gilmore-141428;_ylt=Am_fk84RgwEqxUpOrBkrc.JWs5B4
Concrete Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Are we even recruiting him anymore? Seems like we've turned our attention to true bigs, Gilmore is more of a 3. I also haven't heard his name brought up by Barfnecht, Washut, Rosenthal, etc. in a while. I hope we are, obviously

I guess I don't know for sure that we are still hot on his trail, but it would seem sketchy if we passed on a 6-7 4-star that has a high interest in coming here. And he's still growing.

kldm64 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Sounds like he is wanting to come for a visit. If we can land this kid as well, they need to put a statue of Miles outside PBA. http://ask.fm/LeonGilmore3/answer/59883652639
uneblinstu Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Looks like he's going to visit Creighton, too.

Concrete Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Looks like he's going to visit Creighton, too. Where did you see that at? I hate when the Jays piggyback on us. He tweeted it. I think August 24th or something. They're taking him to the big UNO vs Creighton soccer match..... We should bring him in the following weekend while that's still fresh on his mind and take him to the Nebraska/Wyoming game. Seems like a pretty nice way to say "Creighton is a joke"
kldm64 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Well geez....if they are taking him to the UNO vs. Creighton soccer match, we don't stand a chance. I wouldn't be surprised if he committed right there at halftime of the soccer game. No way can our practice facility, new arena, or a Husker football game compete with that. I hope he is laughing all the way down I-80 and thinking what a waste of time that was. Nebrasketballer and bobcat402 2

I can imagine the pitch now Miles: Leon this is 85,000 soon to above 90,000 people going insane for a meaningless non con game, can you imagine the atmosphere when were undefeated with Michigan State rolling in here and a shot to clinch the division a play Ohio State in the BIG TEN title game. Leon: no coach this is crazy Creighton showed me some lame soccer game and their blueprints for their facilities when i may not even be there anymore, Miles: Now Leon, imagine if you come to NU, 2014 were rolling after a pretty good season NCAA tourney appearance second straight season of sell outs and we play Michigan and Ohio state fresh off of sweet 16 appearances in the first games of the year at Pinnacle Bank Arena...imagine that atmosphere Leon: speechless, nods head commits to NU then and there.

ShortDust Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 I agree with bringing him in on the 31st with wacker. Could possibly get two commits!
hhcmatt Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Might as well visit both. Doesn't seem like a small school sort of kid and has the relationship with Hunter. It will serve as a great contrast. Silverbacked1 1
Creighton Fan Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Might as well visit both. Doesn't seem like a small school sort of kid and has the relationship with Hunter. It will serve as a great contrast. Gilmore did do unofficials at both schools this past summer when Adam Barnes brought him and his teammates to our fine state. I am pretty sure that NCAA rules bar a "doubling up" when taking an official visit. Equally likely is that no school is going to want to pick up the cost of having a kid visit somewhere else while on the school's dime.
bobcat402 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 I’m still fearful of NU tanking on our remaining recruits and completely striking out on a '15 recruits that will always be a fear, I don’t think our curse as left us yet, however when it comes to this kid and our future...I’m extremely optimistic with some pretty thick scarlet colored glasses and a Gatorade gallon jug of red kool-aid to sip on.
