Speaking of NIT, IF we were to upset OSU today (not saying I think we will), even with a sub .500 record, would the NIT look at us?

It's unlikely.  There's no rule to say they can't take a team under .500, but there are enough teams out there that would likely be better options than NU that we'd have to get above .500 to really legitimately be considered.  It's win the B1G tourney or CBI for us.

They're just scared because we've won that tournament before...trying to spread the wealth....commies

I disagree. If we lose in the Big Ten final, we have a decent argument to be in the NIT.

This is academic, really, but I think if we make the B1G final, they take us.  Unless we win the B1G final, in which case we flip the NIT the bird.

I could use this logic with some of the 'W's we got this year. I try to disregard that thought process because of that. Sometimes luck goes our way, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not too wrapped up about the Kent State loss, but it sure would have been nice to win.

You always think you earned the games you won and blew the games you didn't.  Look at Dave's report cards over the year(s).  If we win, it's typically because of the things we did.  If we lose, it's typically because of the things we failed to do.  In the games we won, we took care of business; in the games we lost, we didn't.  We only have two losses all year long to teams outside of Kenpom's top 100 and they were both in the non-con and one of them was at home.  Flip those to Ws and we're in the NIT regardless of what happens today.
