The game tonight will be very winnable...if we are ready to play and don't sleep the 1st qtr. or two.

Sure would like to see the other bench guards (Hake and Nissley) get a chance to start and see what they can do when give that chance. We need scoring out of all three guards. Driving to the basket still isn't our strength this year.

Even wonder if any of the forwards could work at guard to strengthen the guard position. Moriarity started 4 games early.... but had the fewest minutes last game ??

No matter who plays guard, we really need better rebounding from them (Jazz and White are the best rebounders of the guards), and the 4 position too for that matter....need to consistently rebound. Right now we have 3 people doing most of the rebounding.

I watch some other teams and are envious of their team rebounding.

AM looks to be playing better than she has in the past. And she's become very good shooting with both hands. According to the stats she's our MVP. Need her on the floor as much as possible.  She's very driven to play hard and be intense. As she has been from her freshman year.

Mendelson comes back....maybe create an offense using both AM and Mendelson at same time, for part of games. You could really protect the boards.

Darian White for some reason has been struggling a bit at the free throw line where she gets to a lot.  She shot better from there her previous 4 seasons.  Also I think we could give credit for Alexis Markowki"s improvement to her attitude and new post coach.

I had the pleasure of talking to Julian before a game. He is a very nice guy.

when MM does join, sure would like to see her have a bit more "RB43" attitude when it comes to rebounding. not sure that's in her personality though.

we'll see.

maybe just in a little funk. hoping she can turn it up.

Or could it also be because the previous coach is gone ?

Amy did say that Alexis has worked very hard during the off season including conditioning which allows her to play well in extra minutes.  I don't know if I have seen anyone go after rebounds as hard as she does. So far she also has cut down on silly fouls.  We don't have a great shot blocker yet but that is something that Maggie M. will bring to the table with aded strength and experience.  She has the frame for it.  Potts has the ability but can get into foul trouble as a result.

Looks like Jazz is well again....to say the least.

Nissley has gotten up to speed of the college game.  And Petrie has too. She has a nice short range shot around the basket.

Everybody is doing well...obviously. Lots of good moments for all the payers

UNCW is  really behind what's going on...looks like never played in a competitive game before. On the other hand they play pretty clean BBall.

Their Coach is in her 1st season at UNCW

Just finished watching the replay and cannot decide if we played that well or that UNCW is that bad.  Good shooting and controlling the boards was nice to see.  However, it’s much easier to shoot with uncontested looks and a big lead.  Good to see Jaz and Logan light it up and Jaz had some very nice assists.  Nice morale win.  Will need to take it up several notches in East Lansing.

Or some "BC14"  determination would also do the trick. Perhaps watching some of that video would put her in the right mind set.  Most of last year she seemed to me to be pretty passive with a "if the ball comes to me I will do something with it" approach.

Based on my questionable memory, I thought MM was aggressive early.  She would get after it, especially loose balls and boards. She did commit quite a few fouls for the minutes she played.  Was she perhaps reined in a bit?  She seemed to play more passively as the season went on. That seems to be my memory (but could be off).

I expect her to 'get after it', when given the opportunity.  Wishful thinking?  Perhaps.
