As for numbers coach must have been counting on Dillard and Brady otherwise why not fill the two open scholarships.  For what it's worth the players who left last year are not doing much for their new teams except Cravens who is playing at TCU where she is starting but not having a great year on a mediocre team.

I can't think of a reason to ever have open scholarships.

So when you ask how much longer does NU wait, are you saying that you feel it’s time for NU to move on from Williams?
I’m on the fence. Check back with me in mid-March.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.  I doubt it will happen at the end of this season, though, but knowing that we are losing Haiby next year, and it sounds like we will lose Bourne, too, I don't have very high expectations for next year.  Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.  You never know.

On a side note, I'm one of these people that embraced the 3 point line when it was introduced into basketball.  Now I hate it.  Seems like the mid-range jumper is a thing of the past.  I'm tired of seeing players (I'm not talking about NU, I'm talking all of college basketball here) barely dribble across the half court line, then chuck up a 3.  That's okay if the time is winding down and you have no choice, but I've seen it too many times when there is plenty left on the clock.  I've also seen players recruited mainly because they can knock down a 3 consistently, but are not able to play decent defense or handle the ball well.  Call me an old codger longing for the days when the 3 point shot didn't exist.

What should occur when your team is proficient with the 3-point shot is that driving lanes open up for your slashers and the post players have greater freedom in the paint.  We lost some of that slashing ability when Allison went down AND Sam not 100% recovered from ACL.
