Good for UNO...hope she does well. UNO's relatively new to Div 1 women's BBall , that needs a shot in the arm so to speak.  The men.s team has made some strides, so can the women.

hmm....isabel palmer is at least the 19th DI wbb player from Australia to enter the transfer portal this off-season. (from raoul on twitter)

i don't know how many players from Australia are playing at the DI level, but, it sure seems to be a rather high percentage of transfers. i could be wrong, though.

HAMILTON -- Colgate Women's Basketball is forgoing the final two weeks of 2020-21 after yet another season-ending injury.

The Raiders have been attempting all year to put together a successful campaign after having begun play back in January with four players out for the season because of injury. Despite that, Colgate began this year's abbreviated schedule with high hopes thanks to a convincing win at Army to open the season.

It looked like the perfect carryover from last year's terrific 19-win showing.

But the injuries never abated and the season-ending list increased to five and then six and now seven, with more Raiders doubtful for a return to action over the next two weeks. Thus, the difficult yet necessary decision was made to halt play at nine games completed.

"We appreciate our medical team and administration putting the needs and safety of our student-athletes first and foremost," Raiders head coach Bill Cleary said. "Despite how things have gone, I'm extremely proud of this team and the fight they showed throughout.

"They are looking forward to getting a fresh start and picking up where we left off with such a good feeling after last season."

In place of a traditional Senior Day game, plans are in the works to honor Nia Ahart and Keelah Dixon, celebrating their accomplishments and recognizing their families for four years of support and achievement within the Colgate women's basketball program.

i'll be surprised if he isn't gone by end of July

From the Athletic:

The number of transfers from Syracuse’s women’s program this year is the most among any Division I program, men or women. Since 2018, 20 have left, the highest rate among any Power 5 women’s team during that span that has not endured a coaching change. Of the 14 top-100 recruits Hillsman has signed since 2015 – which is more than both UConn and South Carolina have signed over the same period – nine have left after two or fewer seasons. The question isn’t just why 11 women left Syracuse this year. It’s why players have been ditching the Orange for years.

The answer – gleaned from interviews with nine former players as well as 19 others, including team managers and staff members – is that Hillsman’ often-inappropriate behavior, including unwanted physical contact, threats and bullying, and the program’s generally pernicious culture, pushed many players and staff members to leave. After a 2016 run to the national championship game, Hillsman’s ego also ballooned – “I’m a star,’’ he told them frequently – and players felt his attention to their well-being shrunk. In an era when player support, mental health, trust and relationships are paramount, many players felt Hillsman treated them like replaceable cogs in his wheel.
