huskerchode Posted March 4, 2024 Report Posted March 4, 2024 I'm curious if anyone has any information on this. One thing I've been impressed about with Caitlin Clark is that she doesn't seem to get injured, especially when you factor in the minutes she plays. In fact, outside of Molly D. getting hurt yesterday in their game, I don't recall a player for Iowa suffering a major injury all season. I could definitely be wrong on that, so please correct me. But I'm wondering what their S&C are doing to prevent injuries, or are they just lucky? Quote
HUD Posted March 4, 2024 Report Posted March 4, 2024 Maybe they don't have a camera guy on a too big of a mobile cart that someone making a fantastic defensive hustle play runs into hitting her knee on the front edge of and tears her ACL. Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted March 5, 2024 Report Posted March 5, 2024 imo, until the Davis injury.......the hawks have been fortunate. i don't think they have any "secret code" when it comes to staying healthy. maybe someone can school me. Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted March 5, 2024 Report Posted March 5, 2024 (edited) Carly Thibealt-DuDonis i think the Fairfield Stags are 25-1 and may have cracked the top 25. granted, not the most difficult schedule, but, did clobber Rutgers at Rutgers. could be a coach to watch in the near future. i can't remember if she left minnesota before whalen's last season or as whalen was leaving. huskerchode Posted March 12, 2024 Report Posted March 12, 2024 Gonzaga beat by 1 point in conference championship game. Does the committee take 2 from WCC? Don’t believe Portland was ranked although their record isn’t bad. Zaga ranked 14th. Quote

whoopdeedoo Posted March 15, 2024 Report Posted March 15, 2024 (edited) charlie creme stated he still thinks gonzaga will be in top 16 even with a loss in the championship game. i've watched a handful of gonzaga games this season. i think they may be one of the best mid-major squads ever put together........jmo. whoopdeedoo Posted April 2, 2024 Report Posted April 2, 2024 this is most likely a huge blow to wisconsin for next season. https://www.aol.com/wisconsin-loses-serah-williams-sania-033717656.html Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted April 8, 2024 Report Posted April 8, 2024 i read where Chad Greenway was giving an interview and made a statement along the lines that his daughter (Maddyn Greenway) could be the next "one" at Iowa. Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted April 8, 2024 Report Posted April 8, 2024 Michigan's Taylor Woodson has entered the transfer portal........wonder if that will mean anything to the Olivia Olson commit (hoopgurlz #15) as she has stated Taylor was her best friend. probably not, but, maybe something to watch. Quote

Yeah. Right. Clark is a generational player. No one will truly "follow" her. Bugeaters1 1 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted April 9, 2024 Report Posted April 9, 2024 Iowa has been solid for years. Megan Gustafson nearly got them to the Final Four. Iowa is not going to be the Little Sisters of the Poor just because Clark. Martin and Marshall are leaving. Merlin 1 Quote

When USC and UCLA come to PBA there will be plenty of talent to observe. 12dozen 1 Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted August 12, 2024 Report Posted August 12, 2024 regarding BIG(18) recruiting from si.com: "Canadian 2025 forward Cearah Parchment has cut her college choices down to the Gophers, Michigan, Maryland and Illinois. She is a four-star recruit who is ranked No. 39 overall in ESPN's HoopGurlz 2025 rankings. Listed at 6-foot-2, Parchment is a talented two-way forward who as a junior last season played for Fort Erie International Academy in Fort Erie, Ontario. She also played for the Canadian National Team at the U17 World Cup this summer where she averaged 3.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Minnesota currently has two players verbally committed to its 2025 recruiting class: Makena Christian and Zoey Bershers. Adding a commitment from a player like Parchment could give Gophers head coach Dawn Plitzuweit and her staff one of the best recruiting classes in the Big Ten." Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted August 16, 2024 Report Posted August 16, 2024 couldn't get access to the article, but, appears that minnesota is in a financial pinch. looking at cutting some sports. headline mentioned future of Williams Arena. if things are that much of a struggle, i have no idea how they would even consider replacing Williams in the near future. whoopdeedoo Posted August 20, 2024 Report Posted August 20, 2024 i noticed there is discussion stirring in minny (again) on replacing Williams Arena. don't know how this comes up when it was just let known minny is in a financial pinch. know nothing about architecture, but, i would think there would be big hidden costs trying to renovate a 100 yr(?) old building. therefore, i would think one would be looking at a new arena somewhere (most likely on campus?) interesting to see where this topic goes in the near future.
