jimmykc Posted April 6, 2019 Author Report Posted April 6, 2019 Ok, I'll buy that as long as you don't crank it up really loud when you are on the treadmill. And it's Prinze, just to have the correct spelling because of his tragic end. Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted April 6, 2019 Report Posted April 6, 2019 I was going to guess his son before you put it up. Freddy Prinze Jr. Quote
jimmykc Posted April 6, 2019 Author Report Posted April 6, 2019 Told you there would be a father/son combo. Now I am down to my last three Freds. I would not have gotten any of them so if anyone gets one in my little game, they get an A-, two will get an A, and all three will get an A+ Quote

jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 You now have an A-minus, Matt. I had missed this 1990's movie entirely but the late Gene Siskel once said it was the worst movie he had ever seen. Now on to another hard one. Quote

jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 Wow, I am impressed. You have an A minus now Auroran. Federico isn't even technically a "Fred" but he did make some good films. Now on to the grand fred-nale. Quote
jayschool Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 @jimmykc Another "German-born" Fred? Or at least that's what people have been saying. jimmykc 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 And jayschool also gets an A minus for his course in Fredish 101. Obviously the art of the comb-over was not taught in Germany, thus proving Donald's daddy was indeed born there. I will now close this game and hope that Moonlight has accumulated a bit more mojo with his time spent on the bench. Thanks to all for playing and I think getting more than 1300 views on this topic says something about HHC members-I'm just not sure what. And now back to Nebraska basketball. Quote

Archibald "Moonlight" Graham from Field of Dreams. Oh wait, you're done with Freddy's. Quote
jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 Yes, some may not realize that Graham was a real person who had only one at bat in the majors and later became a medical doctor. He didn't resemble Burt Lancaster though, having more of a "pencil-necked' appearance. And for those who are curious, my favorite Burt Lancaster roles in addition to Moonlight were Sgt. Warden in "From Here to Eternity" and the title role in "Elmer Gantry". (To my knowledge he never had a hidden connection to Nebraska sports, however, like Bruce Dern). AuroranHusker 1 Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Little surprised I did not see Fred Macmurry from My Three Sons. jimmykc 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 Another forgotten Fred! I preferred him in "Flubber". Quote
Red Don Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Or the Film Noir Classic, "Double Indemnity!" Quote
Handy Johnson Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Speaking of film Noir and Burt Lancaster wasn’t he in “the Killers”? Quote
AuroranHusker Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Fast Fred: *award named after said Fred Quote
jimmykc Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 The mother lode of Freds just keeps giving. I think it has now exceeded the legendary lost cache of Walters. Quote
colhusker Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 May have missed it Jimmy, did this Fred make an appearance? Quote

jimmykc Posted April 8, 2019 Author Report Posted April 8, 2019 Yes, that very photo was an avatar briefly. Lynn, Rice, and Dewey Evans was one of the best outfields ever. Piersall, Jackie Jensen, and Williams are also up there. But last year's group surpassed both groups, at least for one year. Quote
