Doc got a toilet bowl job at Southern Mississippi, then he found out Donnie Tyndall crapped on him one additional time.  Now the AD says enough time has passed and Doc should have pulled the program back up to respectability...alas, he did not get his contract rolled ahead.  Sounds like the toilet water is circled ready to go down the drain.

Rough spot. He actually has to save enough from boosters in order to afford a trip overseas.

He should load up on those wins. He doesn't need to make the tourney to get extended...winning 16-20 would do it. EAT THOSE CUPCAKES DOC!

Y'know, I had to look into this just because.  And Sadler was really snake bit last season, his third since taking over the dumpster fire that Tyndall left at Southern Miss.

He had two starters go down for the season last year -- one played 8 games and the other only 5 -- and he's expected to just overcome that?  Because Southern Miss basketball?

Remember when we used to have arguments about what was an excuse and what was a reason when it came to Sadler?  Well, losing two starters for the season in year 3 falls into the category of reason rather than excuse in my opinion.

One of those two starters was a senior and played a couple of games after the halfway point of the season, so he's probably done.  The other expects to get a medical redshirt and return as a sophomore with 3 more to play.  The kid who is returning is 6'11" and averaged 10 ppg and 6.5 bds before he went down.  He was also shooting 43% from beyond the arc.  Tell me that kid couldn't have helped.  Hell, yeah, that kid could have helped.

Anyway, that's a low rent move by the Southern Miss AD to not automatically roll over the contract after year 3 given what Sadler inherited and given how he lost a couple of starters for the season early on.  That choice could come back to bite them.
