QB situation went from yikes to oh Sh** with news today that Fyfe had surgery on his left wrist.  He may still be able to play.  Tommy may be ready to play.  If not, Darlington, Lamar Jackson and DPE are lined up as remote possibilities.  Heck, we may even see Jordan back there :)

TA will play....not sure how effective he will be.  But he will play.  Practiced last evening.  IMO, a banged up TA is better than a one handed Fyfe.

It is only the start of the 4th quarter, and stranger things have happened...but that said, I am greatly disappointed by the team that showed up in Iowa City today.  Sure our QB situation is bad, but that doesn't forgive the rest of the team and coaches.  We have more talent than the Hawkeyes.  So what does that tell us?  The X's and O's were missing and the effort was lacking.

I'm not a betting man... but mark this down.

Penn St. wins out.
Nebraska wins out.
OSU beats Michigan.
Minny beats Wisconsin.

Nebraska beats PSU in Big 10 Championship game.

OSU makes playoff.

Good thing you're not a  betting man.

Anybody who did not see the Read firing coming raise your hand...that said, Bruce went back a long way with Coach Riley.  That tells me that expectations must be met or exceeded; otherwise bye-bye!

With the lack of support in recent media appearances, it was fairly easy to see coming, but not necessarily the timing of it.  Thought it might be after the bowl game.  Glad it is now; some good coaches will be available, and we can get Tavita Thompson out on the road recruiting.

Now, perhaps Les Miles wants to coach his son!  :)

Due to a change in NCAA rules do we now have two openings?

Not yet, as the extra assistant still needs approval.  Most expect it to happen, but it hasn't been finalized yet.  I'm sure they are planning on filling two spots.

I like the NE-TN matchup better than other possibilities that had been proposed. Now, let's get that 10-3! GBR

I don't disagree with the opponent, but I am sort of underwhelmed by the bowl itself, and the location (given that this will basically be a home game for Tennessee).

HB and the missus have  tickets.  Now just figuring out how the hell to get there!

Well, that fits how the season sputtered in big games at Ohio State & at Iowa. I'm hopeful that the 28 NU Seniors will help the young guys get ready to get after it on Dec. 30rh! I can't wait to beat Tennessee (who had postponed the 2-year series with NU a decade, then NU scheduled Oregon...).

It's about a 12 hr drive iirc. I went to st. Louis and then I drove through Illinois went through Paducah Kentucky and then to Clarksville Tennessee and on into Nashville not a lot of traffic on any of those interstates

Thanks,Bugs.  I think we'll drive.  Flights are ridiculously expensive, and air travel sucks anymore.
