The record is out there for everyone to see and it's painfully clear that it hasn't happened the way anyone has wanted it to. And yes, change will happen when it needs to. NOT when you or any of us thinks it should. We are just trying to give some positive vibes to the program here. Call it blind faith, call it delusion, call it what you want but realize that we as fans have a job...and that is to support those kids that go out there and play their guts out for us. They do it for us, for the school we love (and in some cases call our alma mater), they do it for themselves, and yes, they even do it for their coaches. What we can do is support them, come hell or high water, and the choice they made to play for all the reasons listed above. That means shutting out negative thoughts and give them a chance to prove us wrong. They at least deserve that, okay? Bringing the room down with constant jabs is not helping. Negativity breeds like vermin. Can we just please let it go? Thanks. Quote
Swan88 Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 This is a report of studies on optimism v. pessimism: "Pessimism is trouble because it's bad for your health. Numerous studies have shown that optimists are physically and psychologically healthier than pessimists. . . . The researchers found that pessimists' health deteriorated far more rapidly as they age. . . . research conducted by the Mayo Clinic . . . found optimists have lower levels of cardiovascular disease and longer life-spans. . . . researchers at Yale and the University of Colorado found that pessimism is associated with a weakened immune response to tumors and infection. Researchers from the Universities of Kentucky and Louisville went so far as to inject optimists and pessimists with a virus to measure their immune response. The researchers found optimists had a significantly stronger immune response than pessimists. Positivity and Performance: Keeping a positive attitude isn't just good for your health. . . . In one study [of insurance salespeople] . . . Optimistic salespeople sold 37% more policies than pessimists, who were twice as likely to leave the company during their first year of employment. Persistent pessimism on message boards like this is something to be avoided! pmd9, Red Don, Thattimeofyear4 and 1 other 4 Quote

The players are there and if they aren't...it's on him. Landing Allen doesn't change the expectation that Miles needs to win next year; it just makes it more likely. Silverbacked1 and Red Don 2 Quote

Funny thing is they think they're gonna jump in and "Plan B" Allen and push Kansas out of the way on him? Good luck with that, Greg. Official AuroranHusker and 49r 2 Quote

How about if we just get Allen and then one of the other three? Quote
