  1. Say that’s true for every team: 1.5 * 350 = 525 less scholarship players. I bet that would make baseball coaches furious as pointed out. Lots of walk-ons and their parents would be happy though.
  2. I agree, but he shot 43% from three. How do you have that sort of discrepancy? Has to be in his head.
  3. With 13 scholarships you’re going to have 3-4 new faces every year if everyone stays through graduation. That obviously doesn’t happen. Your every game rotation is 8-9 players. If those 4-5 non-rotation guys are either not happy about that and choose to transfer/are encouraged to look elsewhere, we’re going to have 6-7 new faces each season between that, graduation and hopefully the draft. If the new faces aren’t because of rotation players leaving on their own, we’ll have plenty of continuity among our contributors. I think Fred will get to that spot and losing so many rotation players was a first year aberration.
  4. Watching that he reminds me of Gorgui Dieng. Don’t know if he shoots as well, but seems efficient with his movement and has pretty court awareness.
  5. Stevenson was 16/41 at Pitt from three. Small sample size, but 39%. Can he keep it close to that with more volume?
  6. At 7 wins per returning scholarship player, let’s see..... 4 returning scholarship players = 4*7 = 28 wins Expectations adjusted!
  7. It’s hard to judge from the highlights but Sanogo looks like the most athletic/explosive of the three. Could, or would, they play him at the “4”, or at least have him defending the other team’s 4 with either Walker/Yvan at the 5 for a few minutes each half? I bet Doc would like that for his defense scheming. Maybe even extend that time on the court together depending on matchups.
  8. I hear that stuff’s everywhere down there.
  9. To quote The Dude, “Is it a.... what day is it?”
  10. Yeah, you can teach getting a better shot, that is part of what I meant when I said scheme and what you’re asked to do can help. Are you asked to be the team’s main scoring threat and put yourself in a position where you end up taking difficult shots, or be a complimentary piece. You can also teach better footwork/balance, hand placement and mechanics on the shots you do take. Which should lead to improvements unless players are at their ceilings. Most college players aren’t at their ceilings.
  11. Both McGowen and Nolley shot <40% FG and 3pt FG near 30%. Not stellar. I know system and what you’re asked to do can make a big difference, and Hoiberg can teach shooting, but he’d have some work to do with either.
  12. Look at that year over year free throw improvement!
  13. Maybe Marshall will finally take a Power 5 job.
  14. You mean “The University of Lincoln”?
  15. Noah after the under 4 time out in the first half on Wednesday.
  16. With Banks having three season of eligibility left, and Vedral one, we're going to be deep next year.
  17. What a week! And it's only Tuesday!
  18. I hear ya. There will be a lot of movement, and after 7 wins, we might as well just go along for the ride and hope it’s better next year. I trust our coaches. I was thinking Sunday as I sat behind our bench that there is just too much experience, and too many good recruiters on our coaching staff for us to not improve significantly over the next few seasons.
  19. That’s one way to put it I suppose.
  20. The only game I get to go to this year and I have no idea what to expect or who will be playing! How exciting!
  21. Nebraska 73 Minnesota 68 This is the only game I get to go to this year and my prediction is all hope with no basis in reality.
  22. If he sold our basketball soul to the devil, WHAT DID WE GET IN RETURN?!?!?!?!
