  1. Dalano for me. Most unique size / skill set combo. Excited to see him exploit those mismatches. Also he looks good going left and right in his highlights, he’s gonna be tough for opposing teams to plan for.
  2. Agree about the expectations. For the record I don’t think he’s coming here and so he won’t have to worry about those expectations, it’s just what I want to happen.
  3. Overrated, underrated, one and done, four year player, I don’t know. I’d just love to see him (especially as a homegrown talent) play for Nebraska and help us establish higher competitive standard for the program.
  4. My brother in law is a Texas fan, I took him to their game in Ames last fall for his birthday and it was sold out. The only other time I was there was a Nebraska game, the OT game where Eric Hagg saved us by thwarting a fake extra point. It was also sold out.
  5. Live here now. It doesn’t look like a warzone for long. The city comes out and cleans itself everyday at sun up. I’m sure it’ll be rebuilt quickly where needed, and hopefully this sparks meaningful change in the area law enforcement.
  6. The high protein escargot helps as well.

  8. We’re at home with our first kiddo, born 4/4/2020, and decided today to pick a KBO team to follow while we parental leave/work from home for the foreseeable future. Settled on the NC Dinos because, awesome mascot, and they hit the most home runs last year and seemed like it would be exciting to watch them. They hit three homers and won today!
  9. You can’t count them until you have counted the eggs, because the eggs came before the chickens.
  10. So......next week the announcement will be from Breidenbach?
  11. I could see a slight reduction based on how many players actually see the field for a football team, but you’re absolutely right about injuries and niche needs. Those coaches also don’t leave scholarships open very often either, showing they believe the need for that many is there.
  12. Say that’s true for every team: 1.5 * 350 = 525 less scholarship players. I bet that would make baseball coaches furious as pointed out. Lots of walk-ons and their parents would be happy though.
  13. I agree, but he shot 43% from three. How do you have that sort of discrepancy? Has to be in his head.
  14. With 13 scholarships you’re going to have 3-4 new faces every year if everyone stays through graduation. That obviously doesn’t happen. Your every game rotation is 8-9 players. If those 4-5 non-rotation guys are either not happy about that and choose to transfer/are encouraged to look elsewhere, we’re going to have 6-7 new faces each season between that, graduation and hopefully the draft. If the new faces aren’t because of rotation players leaving on their own, we’ll have plenty of continuity among our contributors. I think Fred will get to that spot and losing so many rotation players was a first year aberration.
  15. Watching that he reminds me of Gorgui Dieng. Don’t know if he shoots as well, but seems efficient with his movement and has pretty court awareness.
  16. Stevenson was 16/41 at Pitt from three. Small sample size, but 39%. Can he keep it close to that with more volume?
  17. At 7 wins per returning scholarship player, let’s see..... 4 returning scholarship players = 4*7 = 28 wins Expectations adjusted!
  18. It’s hard to judge from the highlights but Sanogo looks like the most athletic/explosive of the three. Could, or would, they play him at the “4”, or at least have him defending the other team’s 4 with either Walker/Yvan at the 5 for a few minutes each half? I bet Doc would like that for his defense scheming. Maybe even extend that time on the court together depending on matchups.
  19. I hear that stuff’s everywhere down there.
  20. To quote The Dude, “Is it a.... what day is it?”
  21. Yeah, you can teach getting a better shot, that is part of what I meant when I said scheme and what you’re asked to do can help. Are you asked to be the team’s main scoring threat and put yourself in a position where you end up taking difficult shots, or be a complimentary piece. You can also teach better footwork/balance, hand placement and mechanics on the shots you do take. Which should lead to improvements unless players are at their ceilings. Most college players aren’t at their ceilings.
  22. Both McGowen and Nolley shot <40% FG and 3pt FG near 30%. Not stellar. I know system and what you’re asked to do can make a big difference, and Hoiberg can teach shooting, but he’d have some work to do with either.
  23. Look at that year over year free throw improvement!
  24. Maybe Marshall will finally take a Power 5 job.
  25. You mean “The University of Lincoln”?
