Man, glad I undershot our win total! When I made that prediction I remember thinking "12 conference wins should be like 5/6 seed" and I put that down with irrationally optimistic thoughts. Here we are with 13 conference wins and probably on the outside looking in. What a weird season. Let's go lock up a spot in the conference tourney.

One of the metrics, can’t remember which, maybe BPI, has a category ‘SOR’ strength or record, which does show how many teams would do better with your schedule. So if you are ranked “11” that means 10 teams would be expected to be better with your schedule. We were somewhere in the high 20’s last I remember. Could have been before Illinois.

Not true. It accounts for your opponent's winning percentage, and your opponent's opponent's winning percentage. So unless each opponent, as well as their opponents, have the exact same records, it absolutely matters.

Also in the Sagarin ratings he has one factor that rates how well you’ve been playing recently, only Virginia, Texas Tech and someone else I can’t remember are ahead of us. So what I’m saying is, We’re also #4 in one factor of one metric! (As of this morning.)

Yeah, our defense didn't travel tonight as the saying goes. Forced very few turnovers. We went 1-3-1 for what, one possession? Thought that could have helped keep easy entry passes to Murphy in check since he was just taking it to us in there. At least made them figure out another way to get it in there. Anyway, we kept it in our pocket. Glad the shots were falling. Shooting over 50% with the guy taking the most shots going 4/14? I'll take it! It was a fun game to be at. I let out a couple "wooooos" on Roby's dunks and the Minnesota fans around disliked the number of times I had the opportunity and began mocking me by doing it whenever Minnesota did something. I had a good laugh about that, then did it again the next time he dunked.

Sorry to interrupt the fun, but does anyone know which ranking system the committee is using for their quadrants? I browsed a few articles and couldn't find a solid answer. I'm assuming it's RPI?

I’ve thought about this too and I wonder if we didn’t think either would be just as bad as they are. Probably envisioned them being our worst two games but maybe thought they’d end up in that 250 range. Seems like they were trying to get a couple easier opponents just before the big conference grind got going, but maybe they didn’t expect either to be in the bottom 10% of teams.

To the bold, it's going to be packed with me and my wife cheering for Nebraska all game! Only game I'll get to this year unless we make a never before seen miracle run and I end up having to travel for a sweet 16 game.
