Sighhhh. A very frustrating start.

Yeah...I had two pretty good picks and I am a NC...not that it matters. I am destined to mediocrity as a predictor.

A great moment (one of many) was when Keisei fought for a rebound towards the end of regulation and was fouled. He had a huge smile and downward flexed. He then ran by our bench and was high fived by a couple of the coaches. He then made his two free throws.

A bit earlier Sam H also had a steal under the basket and took a charge. I know his current head coach likes length on defense; but he may have to find a role for a shorter guard moving forward.

Maybe we didn't quite own them, but the better "team" did win tonight. Just rewatched the game. I am not going to say the referees sucked today, in fact that was a tough game to ref with the amount of physicality; but Maryland got away with much, much more then we did. What always pis*es me off is that they will let mega physical play take place, and then they will turn around and call a touch foul. Makes zero sense in my shallow little mind.

Ummm...not 100% true, especially if your name was Tubbs or Stewart.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned earlier; but at some point in the 2nd half, the cameras picked up Coach Rhule going nuts. Great to see.

We won that game by grit and guts. Men at work.

That exhausted me...not sure how our team is right now, but they earned being tired. Anyone else see that Bryce was one of the first on the floor after the game :)

OMG OMG OMG. What an exciting flippin game. Did the Big Ten switch the refereeing crew at halftime without me noticing. What a night and day difference.

Had an opportunity to meet a number of the players today...I noted that Keisei appears to be a legit 6'2".

A random thought or two: * you can be supremely athletic and yet be a miserable basketball player; * you can be as strong as an ox, and not be good at basketball; * you can be as quick as a cat, but fail on the court; * you can hit 95 out of a 100 free throws in practice, but fail in games; * you can be great in 3 point shooting drills, mut miss 75% in games; * and on and on and on. The point being is that finding the right players, finding the right fit, goes beyond seeing talent; it also includes the mental toughness and the application of talent in practice and games. We can certainly debate the.level of talent this team has. In my humble opinion they have the talent to compete in arguably the best conference in the country. I do question their mental toughness though. We lost one player who likely was the most mentally tough person on the court. The remainder of the team could likely overcome that physical loss, but they have not recovered that mental edge. We get pressed, how do we react? We have a turnover, how do we react? We miss an assignment, how do we react? A player gets knocked on her butt, how does the individual and team react? I still think we are an above average team with a good coach. A few things must be fixed; but a major overhaul is not necessary.

Hey, we are Nebraska Husker basketball fans; heretofore, hope is all we have had...hope and a prayer I guess.

Hard to play "what if" with this year's squad. What if Bando and Jawan don't get hurt? What if Wilhelm had good knees? What if DW was good from the start? What if Sam G was 100% each game? What if Blaise was 100% all year? Then you look at a few of the benefactors from above; Dawson, Lawrence, Keisei and Sam Hoiberg. Rather than what if, I say holy sh*t, what a strange but somewhat stimulating ride this has been.
