What's disappointing is how we faded each of the last two seasons. We start out hot, reach #1 both years, then wear down and fizzle out. We should be like a steamroller come tourney time, Cook's resume' though gives him a long leash.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that this is arguably the best team Creighton Prep has EVER had. Last time I checked their coach doesn't have any more 1st team All-Americans sons waiting in the wings. The tables in this "rivalry" are about to turn quickly in our favor. We are now recruiting with the cache' of the Big 10 in our hip pocket, they will still be in the MVC when McDermott leaves.

Our lack of proven scorers & inability to shoot off the dribble were exposed. Loved the grit & the fight. Now we have a week off before heading out West to steal one from Dana.

We need to sign a JUCO who will come in and start. Hopefully in the Derrick Chandler mold.

Someone needs to knock McDermott on his a**. Hopefully El Grande' Andre, that's the picture I want Mr. Pavelka to paint.

Creighton is afraid of being de-pants'd in front of a National TV audience while they're busy preparing for North Carolina.

To all of you who scoffed or chuckled when I predicted 8+ Non-conference wins I'd say, Look at me now, Look at me now! With Creighton and Oregon up next I'm excited to see how we'll hang against stiffer competition. Hopefully we'll have a full house on Thurs. night and send all the stuffed shirts home sad.

Andre needs to play " with a fire in the belly", he is too easily discouraged, then he pouts and gives up. He'll need to bring it every night once the Big 10 starts.

Love the fact that when we got up, we kept puttin' the boots to 'em. Very encourging. This was across the board, best case scenario as far as production and minutes from our key players. Now lets win another one before the dreaded Bluebirds come to town.

Kent St. had NOBODY to match up with El Grande' inside, yet he put up a whopping 2 shots. Who would win a 1 on 1 match-up between Andre and Christopher Niemann? Think about it, but don't let your head explode...

Even in our "down" years, our home court advantage has been real. We've all seen the Huskers beat much better teams at the Devaney. Losing to Kent St. by 14, especially in the manner it happened, gives me pause. If we only win ONE of the next four, please let it be Creighton.

Norm makes a great point, Ray needs to find ways to score when his jumpers' not falling. He's too valuable. And I've heard that David Rivers won TWO state titles down in Georgia. Those were for playing basketball, right?

Almeida, Parker and Peltz shot 2, 3 and 2 shots respectively. That's 3 more than me and I wasn't even playing.

With all due respect to Denny Green,THIS is the Husker team I'm afraid we'll see the remainder of the season.We've had squads in the past that were unable to make shots, but I don't recall a team so unwilling to TAKE shots. Granted, Ray had an "off" night, and Shields didn't play. But if we continue to get nothing from Benny and Andre we have 0 chance. The whole second half my mind wandered to the Big 10 schedule that lies ahead...

I talked to Andre Saturday morning at practice. I can only assume the "give em' hell" speech I left him with has finally made the "Light" come on for the young man. I might ease up on the Van Polgeist jokes from now on...
