Don't underestimate how good Joe McCray was. Think back to the game he had in Lawrence............... I believe he averaged 15+ his only year on campus.
Speaking of making players cry...Looks like we might be catching Illinois at the right time again this year. Northwestern made them look silly in Champaign last night.
This game always brings up fond memories of that scintallating '95 NIT matchup between the Huskers and the Lions featuring Don Ameche' in the starring role.
Let's say the B1G sends 7 teams to the tournament. Will Purdue be one of those? NO. Which team will they finish ahead of? IN, MI, MSU, MN, OSU, WI, ILL, IA?
I don't think this team will go belly up. You just look at the schedule and see @ Penn St., Illinois, then Northwestern and realize ol' Mo could be wearin' a Red jersey with a win tonight. I certainly don't want to see us heading into the Northwestern game at 0-7.
Even in years past when we've been shi**y, we've always been tough at home. Tonight should be no different. Lose this one, and things might start snowballing in the OTHER direction.
We only had FOUR guys score against MSU for Christ's sake and STILL made a game of it. Really enjoyed listening to Coach Miles on "the Journey" afterward. He new, as an outsider looking in, that the Huskers in the Big 10 could be a "dream job" with a skies- the- limit type of ceiling. I think he's right.
A-Fu**in'-men! We always use to joke about Cris Cresswell and his Dorothy Hamill cut throwing up shots from the "star". Keep the State outline and the "N", the script "HUSKERS" I can live without. How 'bout a couple of "Herbies" along the baselines?
Earvin "Magic" Johnson starts at Center scoring 42 points, oh wait............ sorry : Andre Almeida starts at Center scoring 8 points and Nebraska loses 72 - 50.
Talley has taken on the " Bo Spencer" role this year, with a modicum of success. It would be nice to have some others step up and shoot the ball, except Shields is OK at best, Rivers is worse, and Parker will hardly see the floor next year.
Should have been a box for "player to be named later" as in the Center we haven't signed yet. A Derrick Chandler clone would be nice, but I'll settle for a Mikki Moore, right?
What happened to the "throw-backs" we wore last season? The red ones with the vintage block lettering? I WANT one and will pay big $$$ for it. A #40 Andre Smith would be sweet, or maybe a McPipe!
Will we be able to have different players inside of those uniforms? ( I'm joking of course)
Hey, Penn St. gave Bucky all he could handle at the Kohl Center last night, C'mon Huskers step it up!
