  2. Andre was Big 8 Player of the Year in 1980, and started at Center standing 6'6". If you don't think he's a badass, check out his sideburns!
  3. He sure fills out those jeans nicely though...
  4. Think Loyola Marymount with Gathers & Kimble. The Sooners under Billy Tubbs. We're gonna make the Showtime Lakers look like a Moe Iba squad.
  5. First thing I thought of, NEIL DIAMOND!
  6. Hey Aurora Husker, did you ever know Pat or Robbie Shaw? We had some epic battles against the Huskies back in my salad days.
  7. It was nice to see Benny Parker take it to the rack a few times. Where has that been all season? You won't get any calls unless you attack the rim, hence the giant foul disparity. Passing the ball around the perimeter until the clock winds down, so Dylan or Ray can jack a hurried three gets you what we saw.
  8. It's always nice to remind Missouri fans that Doc Sadler also owned them!
  9. It's nut cuttin' time in Lincoln, 68 - 60 Cornhuskers
  10. 25 cent Schlitz longnecks at the old Club Car anyone? Thursday nights? As far as the last game at the Bob, maybe we could have Pavelka hot oil wrestle the Shim Shams.
  11. The only thing raining down at the Barn last night were dunks on our head.
  12. I thought it was kind of strange that they mentioned that too. But, in all fairness, on a national level Nebraska hasn't really ever been all that relevant in basketball, even during the Nee years. But consider this...Ole Miss is making a strong run towards an NCAA tourney bid this year, which would end a drought for them that dates back to 2002. Quick, without looking it up, who was the Ole Miss coach back then? Heck, who is their coach now, for that matter? From our own myopic viewpoint, it seems bizarre to think that Danny Nee is so easily forgotten. But really, he wasn't ever all that well known in the first place to joe basketball fan outside old Big 8 territory. That is all very true and valid young 49er. What irks me is this, if you've invested a Saturday afternoon watching a meaningless Nebraska/Northwestern game, the chances you've heard of Danny Nee are very high.
  13. I'll take the Huskers and 19 against anybody, especially these bunch of underachieving sad sacks.
  14. Tubby has ZERO tourney wins at Minnesota, and has never finished higher than 6th in the Conference.
  15. You've gotta make it home for the local sports report, so you can see highlights of the game you were just at. Right?
  16. It speaks to a generational phenomenon. A sense of curiousity or just a general knowledge of history is lacking. Anything that happened pre- Honey Boo Boo doesn't exist for these people.
  17. 68 - 60 Big Red. I'll have the good fortune of sitting behind the Husker bench, when the "Fire Tubby" chants start raining down.
  18. Nice to see us take it to someone for a change. Defense was outstanding. The Wildcats came in riding high, and left with their dobber down.
  19. Was anyone else floored yesterday during the NW broadcast when the announcers were discussing our NCAA drought, & they asked if anyone was still around who remembered Danny Nee or knew who he was? I don't have to dust off some old black and white photos to recall those days with some detail. These people need to flip through a media guide or go Tweet themselves.
  20. I live in Minneapolis and have seen this Gopher movie before. In 5 years, Tubby has posted a losing record in Conference every year. They only won 6 games last season with far more talent than we had. I don't think we have a chance at the Barn, but it would be poetic to win our last game at the Devaney.
  21. Gophers look like their imploding, Does the ghost of one Robert Devaney deliver us a win in the last ever game at the Bob? R.I.P Husker Bob, Mad Mike and all the rest........
  22. Nebraska 58 - Wildcats 50, if you don't win this one, forget about 4+ wins.
  23. After Almeida had that clean rip called as a foul, the Huskers packed it in. We had to work our a** off for everything, they got good looks at their leisure. Definitely a step back.
