  1. This seemed like a "winnable" game only a week ago. I didn't expect us to go toe-2-toe with the OSU and Michigans of the Conference, but after watching Iowa and Purdue this week, I realize how far off we really are. That being said , Wisconsin will be a tall order, even at home. Badgers 65 Cornhuskers 53 I really hope I'm wrong
  2. It's no secret Dylan & Ray have to carry the scoring load, but we don't need them jackin' up bad shots, or just shooting to shoot (like Ray was). Benny needs to shoot to keep them honest, and Brandon needs to trust his shot more than he does. It was nice to see Serg looks like he's actually played Basketball before.
  3. Seemed like Dylan & Ray were pressing all night, which led to a lot of forced shots. We need some other guys to knock down open looks or this game will happen time and again.
  4. The Bowl game left me sour. Of course I want us to win at everything. Hell, I brag about the Women's Bowling team ALL the time!
  5. We could lose by 20 tonight and actually play much better than last Sat. It's all relative and depends a great deal on the opponent. I assumed we wouldn't be too engaged for Nichols St., but the Seniors should realize and convey to everyone the Big 10 starts TO-NIGHT, the level of effort and play need to go to 11.
  6. I'll do back flips if we win 6. Watching Gophers/Spartans on Mon. looked like they were playing a different sport entirely. Especially compared to the last Husker game I sat through. Fast, everyone could handle the ball, shoot it, TOUGH inside. This was a man-sized game. I hope to hell we're ready.
  7. I'm sick of Nebraska being called a "Football" school. They haven't won a damn thing since '99, nearly as long as our NCAA tourney drought. Just wait 'til we start hangin' Big 10 banners down in the Haymarket, everyone can stop pickin' the bones of that old football carcass and LET IT DIE!
  8. I was at this game, and would agree with the assessment. We had them down by 20, which is when you continue to pile on. We quit playing and let a team we should run off the floor back in the game. We better come with a fire in our a** on Wed. or they'll have that 22 point spread covered by half.
  9. I remember my first beer...
  10. Simple math, 0 FGs for Dylan Talley = 0 wins for Nebraska. Merry Christmas to all the Cornhusker faithfull!
  11. Unlike alot of the Rah-Rah journalism you get regarding the U, Barfknecht I've always thought has given a fair and unvarnished report. As a beat writer covering the entire conference, I'm glad he's not just a shill for the Big Red. A disclaimer though, he and I studied under the same journalism teacher in Superior.
  12. I stand corrected. A buddy of mine went to high school with him in Wisconsin.
  13. If memory serves me, Doug DuBose was an All-State basketball player in Conneticut. Neubert was equally impressive in both Basketball & Football, which is to say, not at all.
  14. Here's some former Husker basketball "greats" that also played football. Wilson Thomas, Matt Davison & Keith Neubert. Feeling overwhelmed yet?
  15. Saw that score and thought the same thing. I'm banking on the Miners overconfidence, and the afore mentioned "career" day from Peltz to get us the win.
  16. I've played in pick-up games at the old Men's P.E. with guys better than Peltz. Not to disparage the young man, just a fact. Other than about 3 players (you know who they are) , nobody on this team can shoot. I'm talking knockin' down an opener jumper half the time. Nothing worse in Basketball then having a guy that can't shoot, and we've got a bunch of 'em. I knew this season would be rough, I was just hoping it wouldn't be so painful to watch.
  17. It's games like this that make me glance at our Big 10 schedule and CRINGE.
  18. We had something scheduled at Mabel Lee with the towels over the windows, but the DN busted us....
  19. I had a chance to meet Coach Miles and tour the Hendricks facility with him about a month ago. The guy seemed like a no B.S., "roll up your sleeves" kind of coach that understands what an opportunity he has at Nebraska. There is NO reason we can't be a consistent winner. I think Miles knows that.
  20. Benny, shoot the ball son, shoot it.
  21. Leave him alone, he IS in shape. That shape just happens to be a circle.
  22. I opened the Minneapolis Star Tribune sports page yesterday to this AP headline. Oregon 60 - Northwestern 38. It's one thing to have your program treated as an afterthought, THIS was the journalistic equivalent of a punch to the ba**s. Maybe it's the 0 tournament wins, the names both starting with an "N", or our Big 10 affiliation. Whatever the reason, this oversight saddened me almost as much as how out classed we looked during the game. Almost.
  23. 0 points, 4 fouls. I hope Andre FRAMED his Big 10 Player of the Week award.
  24. Arguing number of wins is a moot point. If Shields can play great, we simply need the bodies. If he'll be out awhile, take the Redshirt. These things have a way of sorting themselves out...
