Some might say this is an exercise in masochism. Some might say it is pathetic on several levels I'm not comfortable going into today. I found it cathartic. Name the Nebraska tournament losses in the order of most disappointing/devastating. 1. '91 NU vs. Xavier - The deepest and most talented Husker team ever. Their greatest weakness was not understanding how truly good they were. 2. '94 NU vs. Penn - Red hot off a Big 8 tourney win, we fell in love with the 3 ball and lost to an Ivy league school. An IVY league school. 3. '14 NU vs. Baylor - Finished 4th in a tough B1G, then got smoked like a New York joint. 4. '98 NU vs. Arkansas - A Lue/Belcher back court couldn't get past a so so Razorback squad. 5. ' 93 NU vs. New Mexico St. - In a parellel universe NMSU is STILL dunking on us somewhere. 6. '92 NU vs. UConn - Didn't think we'd win this one, and we didn't. 7. '86 NU vs. W. Kentucky - Hoppen was hurt, Bernard Day was the best player. So unexpected it really was a "just happy to be there" moment.

Brings to mind a headline from the early 80's when we squared off against UMKC, "Kangaroos can't stop Hoppen".

This is absolutely THE worst time of the year. Everyone is excited about March Madness and we won't play a game for 8 months. Husker baseball and football don't sustain me the way they use to, and our tournament record is still locked in at a solid 0 -7.

Speaking of "worst teams in BIG history" the match-up with the Gophers last weekend was, record wise, THE worst game ever played in Conference, 2 - 15 vs. 0 -17 and Goldy took it on the chin to the tune of a 20 point loss. We'll roll in this one, then it's bring on Bucky!

The year the Big Red break through (and we will) it won't be some flukey deal where we win one game in the Dance and then get bounced out. No my friends, it will be a sweet 16 run or better and we will be the darlings of the National media, ( and no I haven't been in the cough syrup this morning ).

I have all the faith in the world that Miles will find a starting Center for next season and the line-up will look as you described.

I'm from Superior but have lived here in the Twin Cities for 20 years. The latest in this downward spiral at the U 0f M involves former Gopher great Richard Coffey and his prize recruit of a son Amir. Seems the old man isn't too thrilled with the endless shananigans over in Dinky town and now Amir might be looking elsewhere. We would certainly take him, top 100 by ESPN.

We need to win this one to get on a roll for our B1G Tournament run... as of last night we had a Rutgers then OSU match-up which I think is very favorable. P.S. I deleted my Avatar in hopes of importing a new one, but every photo I try is either too big (ha ha) or the wrong format. Any sugestions?
