Can we go 8 - 5 down the stretch, 7- 6? That will surely put us in the NIT conversation. It looks like this team is starting to figure some things out, and the Freshman are gaining confidence game by game. And oh yeah, AW III is GOOD.
King didn't hardly play until a couple minutes were left and Buggs didn't play at all. The talk in the Twin Cities isn't IF Pitino will get fired but WHEN. An over reaction, sure, but they just lost to NU & NU by 25 and there is no win in sight...
They lost to South Dakota and South Dakota St. in the SAME week. They are garbage, if we lose this one everyone involved should be drawn and quartered...
We can always hope Northwestern trends back to the mean and fails to make the Dance. That way we still have ONE school we can look down our noses on. We might be 0-7 all time, they my friends are 0-0
It's a sad, sad fact we are 3 games in and discussing the likelyhood of a 14th seed. If only TP and Pitchord would have stayed. Selfish and shallow on might part I know, but I have to grouse about something...
I'd prefer a Derrick Chandler or a Kamani Ffriend in the post as a defensive stalwart..
You are right talent wise, & JUCO status Aurora, I was just wishing some homegrown talent would pop-up and save our bacon...
Welcome aboard Khoock, you are pretty much right on with the line-up and roles for next year, Now we just need to find another Dave Hoppen/Bill Jackman...............Please
Well.... we're off to an 0-3 start, Rutgers and Minnesota are absolute MUST wins if we want to keep the NIT dream alive (Yes I just typed that). We drop those two and things will go South in a hurry.
I see the front lines of Maryland and Purdue and I cringe. The middle of the Conference seems a little soft, but we will be presented with match-up problems throughout. We would need to steal a couple "surprises" at home and have some Freshman get their sea legs fast, but I don't need to be talked off the ledge quite yet...
Creighton/Incarnate Word - Creighton/Samford, this season is starting to feel alot like last years and that worries me. I met Coach Miles in year 2 and he told me he had plenty of shooters but he needed some makers. As Normy mentioned above there is a dirth of shooting on this squad.
We don't even try to post up Shields or White, that is a real head scratcher. We don't have enough shooters to rely strictly on jump shots. I shudder when I think of what Maryland's front line will do to us.
