  1. That's a valid point, but it seems Izzo's resume always gives MSU a pass when it comes to where they're projected. Bridges and Jackson are 1st round NBA type talent, and those guys just don't walk in the gym every other day even at MSU. Izzo get's the benefit of the doubt, that's understandable. Conversely, NU with little pedigree, can't even secure a Home NIT game at 13-5. Hopefully all of this will be settled where it should be, on the court.
  2. I don't understand how Michigan St. can lose Bridges and Jackson and still be thought so highly of. Granted Izzo has a history of just "reloading" but those two weren't just run of mill type talent. And what's with all the haters dissin' JPJ? The kids a POY candidate and yer leaving him off the All-Conference team? The servings of Crow will be served up Old Country Buffet style all in due time...
  3. I thought Nate was going to stick with the Lakers but it didn't work out that way...
  4. Sounds like Yeezy and Arop are Miles primo targets for those last two scholarships. Let's hope Old 'Mo keeps wearing a Red jersey, shaping up to be another solid class.
  5. Former Gopher "Great" Bobby Jackson played at Western NE CC, dare I say it, but it looks like Nebraska might be becoming a "Basketball" school...
  6. I think Harris and Allen are really going to help with the scoring load, the ball handling and taking some pressure off the Big 3 (4)? While this team might lack a traditional 5, it has lots of interchangeable and moveable parts.
  7. This young man has exceeded ALL expectations during his time in Lincoln. I was hoping for a solid contributor, certainly not All-Conference or POY candidate. And, as Katz points out he has LOTS of help to really make himself and this team shine. The season can't get here soon enough...
  8. I wish they would put the little "Herbie" logo back on the shorts, but I won't be holding my breath.
  9. Halloween? maybe...
  10. Thank God... I'm already worn out from the perpetual "Frost Warning."
  11. If Jim Palmer was 1st team All-B1G LAST year and is now approaching "unguardable" status why wouldn't he be on the 1st team again? Oh well... we can send this bozo a postcard from our Sweet 16 site!
  12. Only 3rd??? That's bulletin board material right there...
  13. While most draft picks are based on upside and potential, I think Roby has to show ALOT more offensively to warrant a 1st round pick. Would I be shocked if he left, No. But I expect he'll return for his Senior year and help us defend our B1G Title!
  14. Speaking as someone who graduated with a 2.5 GPA, I like the fact we're usually right there in the "meaty" part of the curve.
  15. Are the odds of Heiman playing this year at 50/50 or is he still more than likely to Redshirt? If he's unable to give us serviceable minutes I'd hate to see him buried on the bench.
  16. I had a bartender friend in Mpls. who's Doctor suggested a Viagra prescription, he replied, "I don't need bullets, I need targets"...
  17. I wasn't able to upgrade at all... I'm just thrilled I still have a seat.
  18. I saw DWade beat Kentucky in the Regional Finals... straight up- one man show. Guy was a baller
  19. I've had my best luck over the years at the thrift stores here in town. It always mystifies me the pristine items people are willing to part with, PLUS all the old stuff is what the hipsters call "vintage" now...
  20. You can never have TOO much Husker Basketball gear...
  21. A new addition to the schedule courtesy of Tim's old connections. They still sing songs around the campfire in this part of the State regarding Mile's time there... gives us another tune-up before the meat of the Conference slate kicks in.
  22. Well, if yer a real loser (ie. myself) you can listen to a little radio during the game then you don't miss anything. BUT it would be nice if they revived the call-in show. I believe there is certainly that level of interest.
  23. When Khalid El-Amin came out of Mpls North High and led UConn to the National Title, he chose the Huskies because they offered the best "package" ie. paid the most. I also had friends on the Gopher squad during the Haskins years and he routinely gave players "walking around" money. I realize this is hardly a news flash, but it's easy to lose sight of just how prevalent it is.
  24. Sleeper is a Woody Allen movie, and Dark Horse I believe is a Craft Brew... (sorry couldn't resist)
  25. Hopefully Roby has worked on his mid-range game. At his size he should be able to pull up and shoot 12-15 foot jumpers over anybody. Kid could be downright lethal, needs to get that "Mamba" mentality.
