  1. As an English major from the “Harvard of the Plains” you score major brownie points for using the word eschew twice in your retort.
  2. I’ve got literally all of my Husker gear from thrift stores over the years. Picked up a vintage Champion jacket awhile back that has a place on the tag for your name & phone number. Remember that when you were a kid?
  3. I’d say it’s a toss up, fact is we really don’t know just how good this NU squad is. I’ve got a hunch they might surprise all of us...
  4. I couldn’t get the $3 out of my pocket fast enough. That’s back when I was a student & had court side seats for five long years...
  5. Found this at the Goodwill for $3.00 yesterday. It’s autographed by the entire 88-89 squad including Coach Nee. I’m taking it as a sign from the great Basketball Gods in the sky...
  6. Losing to a so/so Buckeye squad at home should be a sober reminder to the Bluejay faithful of what lies ahead...
  7. Yep, once yer in all bets are off. An upset like UMBC pulled last year opens up the whole bracket for EVERYBODY...
  8. Butler might have been a poor example. My point is, teams that finish 4th in a Major Conference make a run at the Title ALL-THE -TIME. Why not us? To hell with winning “one” game!
  9. I’d take our squad over that Butler team any day of the week.
  10. That’s way before the “Kid n Play” doo was in full effect...
  11. Your last paragraph, as simple as it sounds, is how you learn how to shoot...
  12. They yapped endlessly the other day on the Ticket about winning "A" game in the tournament. I'm SO sick of that mind set I want to put a fork in my eye. Here's a thought, if you make the tournament, why not try to WIN the tournament? Not to jump the gun here, but there have been numerous teams far less talented than NU that have made a run at the Title, (Butler comes to mind for example) Anyway... that's my rant for the day, GBR!
  13. Brady is on an accelerated curve and looks anything but overmatched, the kid's a flat out baller & looks smooth around the hoop. I still have a sneaky suspicion he'll crack the starting 5 as the season moves along, but even if he doesn't he'll be a BIG-time asset and not a liability off the bench.
  14. I know I'm going off a small sample size here, but I'm intrigued by a frontcourt of Copeland, Heiman & Roby with Palmer and Watson at the guards. With the "Core Four" he doesn't need to be a focal point on the offensive end, nor will he demand the ball. Rebounds and put-backs will be his game, and whatever else he brings is gravy. I like Allen, that's not the issue. I'm just a firm believer in the age old adage, "You can't teach height."
  15. What B-town said, we should be able to get one of those road games and be rollin' come B1G time...
  16. Forget Incarnate Word, we lost to Alaska Fairbanks? In basketball, not hockey? The shame...
  17. After watching them on Sunday I'd say it's gonna be a LONG season up "On the Hill" for Creighton. If they can't hire anymore Coaches with All-american sons, their blitzkrieg, 40 minutes of hell attack won't amount to squat.
  18. Creighton SHOULD have lost to E Tenn St, they won’t be so lucky on Thursday.
  19. He’s been such a constant it’s easy to take him for granted. I’ll never forget when he lit up Lonzo Ball and UCLA...
  20. They don’t have anyone who can handle Palmer & Watson, this one will be a laugher too...
  21. Brady needs to work on his baby-hook & “dream shake” moves, especially with those 7’ Pirates comin to town...
  22. Kinda reminiscent of Mike Peltz... right?
  23. As the season unfolds Tanner and Amir will become more & more serviceable and the foul trouble amongst the starters won't be so deflating...
