  2. I don't think it's a given that both those guys play the point.
  3. Isn't that what Pitchford's supposed to be?
  4. Agau got nominated, too...
  5. Having not seen all in the top group play, I think they would, though Shields and Rivers would get things done. I think it'd be fairly competitive, though. If all 10 plus Parker were available, I think it's a team that could do some good things.
  6. He said they were going to take tomorrow off. He changed his mind after this effort. Said it'll be the toughest practice of the year.
  7. - Really, really, really disappointing effort tonight. - Shields is our best player. - Tyrance brought energy tonight, but had 3 possessions in the last 4 minutes that really cost us an opportunity to get in the game. - School record for only 2 turnovers in the game...and we lost... - Got killed on the boards. - Got 23 points combined from Gallegos, Talley, Almedia and Ubel (yes, I know he didn't play...). Those are our top 4 scorers, gotta get more than that. - Did I see where Painter said he game planned for Rivers? Didn't see that one coming. - Boggled that NU didn't come out of the gates as flat as they did. Then they didn't come out in the 2nd half any sharper. It took a 13-2 run and to get down 20 before NU started playing. NU's got enough going against it to let that happen. That's all for tonight. It's late, I'm tired.
  8. I did that this summer. Ice and aspirin. Back on the softball field three days later.
  9. If they dont redshrit. They won't. Well, at least not all of them. Can't see any way Webster does. Possible one of Fuller and Hawkins does, but I wouldn't be shocked if both see time.

  11. I don't even think there's a 3 pt. line on that one. I like the simplicity of it though. The only hoop malfunction I remember was the Jason Dourisseau dunk vs. Tennessee.
  12. I doubt it was for the show. I'm sure that's a regular part of their routine. But that was on the defensive end. They need to get fouled on the other end of the floor.
  13. I'm stil not sure I understand why Andre keeps getting called for the "You're huge" foul.
  14. I went through this with the baseball team I follow last year. I'd watched them lose, and often lose in the worst, most embarrassing fashion possible. Then, last year, they started winning, and then they kept winning. They finished with the best record in baseball. But I'd been through such low times over the past several years, and in many cases, with the same players on the roster, that I kept waiting for those wheels to go careening, but they never did. Kinda how it'll feel if/when NU starts winning these sort of games.
  15. There were a handful of plays (both in the halfcourt offense and on the break) where we had guys (Rey and Talley, mostly) who were making a move to the bucket and then pulled up for a mid-range jumper. I kept yelling at my TV, "Take it to the rack and get fouled!". Alas... It's all part of the learning how to get fouled thing that Miles has been talking about all year.
  16. Remember when Andrew Drevo did that in the NIT vs. Creighton? He didn't get a technical for it that time either...
  17. Izzo and Dawson both admitted Gallegos never made contact. It was a poor call by the ref. As to the foul disparity? It's just part of the deal this year. We're don't play a style that is going to be condusive to getting fouls called.Talley's decent at getting to the rim and getting fouls called on him, but that's about it, at least consistently. I think getting guys like Biggs and Webster and perhaps Fuller on the court will help with that. Those guys are known for their ability to get into the lane and that's a pretty big part of getting to the line.
  18. If the talent we'll be adding is what we've been told it is, Parker doesn't need to develop any offensive game one lick. He needs to not turn the ball over put his teammates in the best position possible to score and play solid defense. We need his offense this year, but probably not so much in the future. I think he'll be better suited for what Miles wants to run as things develop anyway. We don't really have a true point guard on the roster or coming in anyway. I don't think Parker's going anywhere.
  19. "We're not in it for any kind of consolation prize. We want to win the game. Those kids in the locker room, they're guts are turned inside out because of it." - Coach
  20. I don't know that I'd make that assumption. I wouldn't be shocked if he's serving some sort of punishment rather than defer it 10 months.
  21. Not a huge fan of the massive "N" but otherwise, I don't have a problem with it.
