I think Diaz qould have fit in pretty well with what Miles wanted to do. He and Andre would have been pretty good complements to each other. I'd take him back in a heartbeat. -
So, we've got this fancy new feature where we can post tweets. I'm going to use that exclusively for this chatter. https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286615803573440512 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286617488412786689 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286617557195165697 https://twitter.com/ThorTripp/status/286618045131128832 https://twitter.com/3PtBuckeyes/status/286618489706393601 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286619265988177920 https://twitter.com/HuskerExtraBR/status/286619330563678209 https://twitter.com/AndyLenhart/status/286619413040476160 https://twitter.com/jordanmiller24/status/286619750006673410 https://twitter.com/Kroegs15/status/286620395484872706 https://twitter.com/937JakeSorensen/status/286620761777659905 https://twitter.com/HuskerExtraBR/status/286622512559845378 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286623670229663744 https://twitter.com/HuskerExtraBR/status/286625561286152193 https://twitter.com/dpm917/status/286626957922299906 https://twitter.com/kevinkugler/status/286627576259153923 https://twitter.com/nubball2/status/286628461487984640 https://twitter.com/CoachMiles/status/286630291861278722 https://twitter.com/937JakeSorensen/status/286636681220743169 https://twitter.com/TheB1GTime/status/286637301797363712 https://twitter.com/BRASKAball/status/286638012224389120 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286641578137763840 https://twitter.com/HuskerHoops/status/286641875312599040 https://twitter.com/HuskerExtraBR/status/286647180096319488 This post has been promoted to an article

Thank God Football is Over! Now on to B1G Basketball!!

I'lll take the inexperienced talent over the less talented experience every time and take my chances. -
C'mon guys, when I say we've got a shot at 6 wins (which we do), I'm not expecting them to beat one of the top teams, but in the Devaney Center, there will be games vs. the bottom of the league that are winnable. That's where the six wins come from, not from Indiana or Ohio St. or Minnesota or Michigan or even Illinois. We might get a shot at one of them if we catch one coming off a stretch vs. Indiana, Michigan and Ohio St. or something like that, but no one's claiming that we're at a level to compete there yet, but we are good enough to beat teams at the bottom. That's where the number comes from.

I'm guessing he'll get a flurry of offers as coaches hedge their bets that he squeeks in. That happens every once in a while, too.

The football team is set up for its best season in 12 years. My expectations for that team are as high as they've been in a long time. -
I'll give you the point about Thurman having a year to carry the team after Agau, but the point still remains. McDermott may have had some offers, but not to any major schools. We're talking about schools like Northern Iowa, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Indiana St. Not that those are bad schools, but for a guy of Dougie's caliber, that sure seems like he didn't get the looks he should have coming out. The point is that at times it does happen that the hype of a mega star, which, in Nebraska, Agau would qualify and in Iowa, Barnes certainly did, it's relative to a point, sometimes other guys can get lost in that shadow. I don't know if that's what's happening in this case, but it does happen.

really? I thought this was a pretty likable football team. -
Expectations aren't static. They change as we get more information. NU might be better than many expected and with Penn St., Northwestern and Purdue being worse than anticipated, there might be some opportunities that most didn't think would be there heading into the season. They'll find themselves in a couple other games that most don't expect somewhere along the line, too. 6 might be high, but it's not crazy.

no need to make excuses. Ed Morrow is a sophomore at Simeon making headlines coming off the bench on a team with the #3 player in the country, two players committed to Illinois in a 4* and 3*, and a 2014 star in DJ Williams. If youre good enough people take notice regardless of whats around you. ...just like Doug McDermott did...oh wait... comparing akoy agau to Harrison Barnes?? little different.... Not really. Barnes was one of biggest recruits in that area in a long time. Overshadowed evreryone else on that team. Similar situation with Agau the past couple of years. Not a talent issue. It's an attention issue.

What did Sam say after the Oregon game?
-
It's possible, perhaps even likely, but it's not a given.
-
The top is, but there will be wins at the bottom. We also get two teams at home early that I think will be very tough at the end. Gotta take advantage vs. Wisc and Purdue and see what happens from there.
-
It's not impossible, but they'll need about every break to go their way from here on out.
-
Nah, dude, keep doing your thing. One thing on the free throws. We did attempt 33 of them. That's a massive improvement over where we were earlier in the season. I know 10 of them came in the last minute of the game while Nicholls St. was trying to extend the game, but take those away, thats 23 trips to the line. There were games where we didn't have 10. It's impossible to say where this team is mentally. It's going to be ups and downs all year. Part of that is due to talent, part is due to learning the new system, part is do to experience. We've got half of our roster playing at this level for the first time and when those players aren't all americans, that's going to lend to major swings in mentality and execution. It's impossible to make judgments on this stuff after year one.

Huh? Ubel went 10-11 from the line... I blew that observation huh...I would have sworn that he missed more, but I must have had my head buried from watching a couple others bricking theirs. Well, the rest of the team went 10-22 and only David Rivers shot better than 50% going 4-6. Everyone that got to the line today were guys who conventional wisdom would indicate they should be good FT shooters. It was a bad day. Got in their heads a bit, I think, before Ubel snapped them out of it. Rivers almost airballed one.

- Seemed to get stagnant offensively a fair bit today. There was a lot of standing around at times. - Before they hit ten straight down the stretch, they were 10-21 from the line. That's not gonna cut it. That was more than they've gotten to the line in other games, which is good, but they've got to convert more of those. Ubel went 10-11 which was good. - Did a nice job not turning the ball over, only 7, but they only were able to create 10 off of Nicholls St. - This was another game where Almedia probably could have named his stat line if they hadn't limited his minutes, which was probably wise heading into conference play. - Four players in double figures is good. - Will need 10-15 points per game from the Rivers, Shields and Parker trio. They've been getting it recently, need it to continue. - Interesting that Tyrance has been getting some non-mop up time. - Disappointing defensive effort as the game wore down to let Nicholls St. back into the game. This never should have been a four point game. Got to figure out how to land knock-out blows. - Rather impressive crowd today. Didn't expect 8k there, and it was a legit 8k. I'm assuming they gave a lot of tickets away. They weren't very loud or into the game from what I could tell, but they were there. Helps the weather was decent. That's all I've got time for for now.
