  1. Final one is tomorrow.
  2. That's the day after the HOF banquet, so the biggest names in Husker hoops history will be around that weekend. OK, reading that back, it sounds a little less impressive than I had intended. Gotta work with whatcha got. Throw Pike, Strickland, Reid, Badgett, Chubick, and that Lue guy at him and dare him to say no.
  3. I guess it's a legitimate question as to whether all of those guys will be perimeter players on next year's team. Because, aside from Pitchford, Vucetic and Biggs, you've pretty much named our entire roster of scholarship players for next year. Some of those guys are going to play more of a "big" role. Shields, for instance. His game is more PF anyway. And that's pretty much what Rivers has been playing this year as well. I agree with what you say that there will be stiff competition for minutes on the perimeter next year but some of those guys will be playing more of an inside role. I meant to inclued Biggs, I thought I was misisng someone... But yeah, I agree that we could see a variety of guys get time at the 4. Shields, Fuller, Petteway, Rivers could all get time down there assuming we don't add anyone else, which I think we probably will. Not to mention that Pitchford will likely also see time away from the basket offensively. Gonna be really interesting to see what sort of lineups they use.
  4. It's gonna be a dog fight for minutes on the perimeter next year. Parker, Gallegos, Rivers, Shields, Webster, Fuller, Petteway, Hawkins. I don't know that there will be room for all of them next year to get on the floor.
  5. Probably because he's burning more calories than he's taking in. He's playing a high activity sport (even if he's not actually getting into games), and probably still has a very high metabolism and not being from the States, might not be a huge fan of the food in this country. When you don't like the food wherever you are, it can be difficult to eat a lot of it. Not that uncommon, frankly, for foreign players. Most athletes lose weight during the season due to the increased level of activity.
  6. I hear what you're saying Norm, but we hoisted up 26 3's. 26!?! That's more than double what OSU attempted. It's a different mentality or perhaps skill set that draws fouls. We don't have it or play it right now. I think Miles wants to do more of that, but right now until we have guys that can do that more often, it's the reality of how this team is constructed. They let a lot go tonight on both sides. If they call it on Andre, for instance, like it's been called much of the season, he'd have fouled out by halftime.
  7. Man, thought this might have been the night. - I thought they responded fairly well to Coach's challenge this week. They got popped in the nose a couple of times and responded and were able to climb back into the game. - Free throw disparity was a pretty big stat in this game. I know this is a priority for Miles, so I have to think this will improve over the years. - Thought we got some good contributions from Andre in the first half, he's just a foule magnet, though. - Rivers was a nice spark in the second half. - Gallegos at times just takes shots for taking shots sake, it seems... - Craft is feisty. Not gonna miss him when he graduates. - Coach Matta was wearing black tennis shoes, not some sort of dress shoe. Does he always do that? - Good crowd tonight. Will probably be the best crowd of the conference season. Only behind the Creighton crowd. - This really was a pretty even game in a lot of categories. The only one where this wasn't the case was in the free throw category. - Held our own on the boards. - I thought there were a lot of good things that happened tonight, just couldn't get over the hump. I'll need to watch it again, I'm sure I missed some things... This post has been promoted to an article

  9. He's had the players backs plenty this season. He's setting the expectation level for future teams. If you want to play at Nebraska you're going to have to bring it every day. You're going to have to play with pride, you're going to have to work harder than you've ever worked before.
  10. If you count this year, it's exactly 15. If you use the last four full seasons, it's 21.
  11. Does that mean he now has an offer?
  12. He runs like a runner. Watch videos of professional marathon runners, even sprinters, run similarly.
  13. I'd like to see KU in the Big Ten, not only because I think they'd be a great fit, but to see Mizzou fans go bonkers.
  14. I've always liked watching KU play ball (other than when they're kicking the crap out of the Huskers). I don't follow them, but if one of their games is on I'll watch a few minutes (I realize this somewhat contradicts my previous post...but it makes sense to me). I always wanted to see a game there, but I've never had the chance. They still play games there, you could make a special trip without any reservations about cheating on the Huskers anymore.
  15. Anybody catch Long Beach St.'s court?
  16. I kinda like watching Kansas play. I've got a soft spot for Allen Fieldhouse... I'll take any criticism that is required after that statement...
  17. Wait, why is this getting bumped?
  18. No. He is not an average shooter. The problem is no one on our team can create. He cant. But his percentage will go up immensely when he has a guard or forward who can put himself in a position to up his percentage from the arc. From what I've seen, his play and numbers would indicate otherwise. The kid seems to be working hard, so hopefully that will pay off. I do like what I've seen from him defensively. I think that's where he's made his biggest strides.
  19. Honestly, I just saw a team that just overwhelmed the Huskers athletically. Really about that simple.
  20. Let's not get carried away. He had a great night, and perhaps it will carry over, but has been a pretty average shooter over the course of the season.
  21. If you're suggesting that we should full court press, we don't have enough players for that I'm suggesting I'd like to see it over the next couple of years when he gets his players in here.
  22. Twitter is synonymous with sarcasm. Rosenthal is pretty tame in that regard.
  23. - Wow, what a truly dreadful start. - Offensive rebounding, turnovers. GAH! Huskers just getting killed on the boards. - We had to know Minnesota was going play desperately tonight, right? And yet we're not ready to answer the bell, again? - I was afraid Williams would get right tonight. In the first half he certainly did. Let him get a couple early ones and his confidence got rolling. - I thought Ray was going to set the record for points in a half there. Came 4 points short. - 9 first half tournovers is way too many. Seemed like they got dunks on about half of them. - Full court pressure really caused NU fits. Would love to see NU do more of this in the future. - Nice to see Shavon get back in the saddle a bit. - Really rough stretch for NU before the first media time out in the second half. Foul on the missed free throw, foul on the three, ten second call. Ugh. - Minnesota's athletes just too much for the Huskers tonight. Sped up NU and forced them to make decisions more quickly than they wanted to, beat them to spots consistently. - This wasn't an effort loss, tonight, to me. It was a Minnesota is better than NU, at home, in desperate need of a win. I thought NU, if anything may have tried to do too much at times. - Both Williams and Gallegos slowed down considerably in the 2nd half. Minnesota has more options to replace Williams than NU does Gallegos. - Not the best game ever for David Rivers. - This was just a terrible matchup for the Huskers, not built for teams like this right now. I think they will be in the future, but not right now. This post has been promoted to an article

  25. Hey, check out Kansas' uniforms tonight.
