  1. From my understanding of the rules...that would not be a technical foul...However if Karl Hess was officiating the game, you might be assessed a technical.
  2. The end of the Louisville game...Officials missed the last foul... I actualy think they could have reviewed it and assessed a flagrant one as the Louisville defender lowered his shoulder onto the cal Irvine guard....no attempt at the ball and excessive foul.
  3. I think the Charge Block Call is not that hard to call...but I don't understand why we want to handcuff the defense. Whoever gets to a spot first, should be granted that spot....(I guess I can understand, not allowing a defensive player to slide into a position after the offensive player is airborne)... But what really frustrates me is when a defensive player is called for a block, when the offensive player picked up the ball too early and actually travelled with the ball before making contact....and instead of a turnover, they award the player two free throws.
  4. For RPI reasons, this would be a great game (assuming we win). We would still have the great majority of fans so it could still have a home game feel while getting the road points. I don't know if Transitional teams such as UNO count towards the RPI... I do believe that Iowa played UNO and when you looked at their win total on RPI vs actual win total, the UNO game was not reflected in their record. I think playing UNO in Omaha once they are full members is a no brainer....for RPI reasons
  5. Imagine if we could create robot officials....that called the game by the book, and never missed a call.....how different this game would be. We would probably have an entirely different final four.....and some players which are considered studs, might be bench warmers..... Traveling, palming, fouls, and balls knocked out of bounds.....so many times, it is gotten wrong or worse just ignored.....
  6. Do you mean they will still foul to lengthen the game when behind? Yes, if behind and time is against a team, they will foul...and I think that is one of the best parts of the game...the last two minutes...why would we ruin it, by changing the rules...to make it harder for teams to come back.
  7. Even if you gave them four foul shots...they will still foul, to speed up the game...one and one free throws will shorten the game.
  8. I would rather have one and ones and more likely get a close finish then a team up 15 coast to a win. Make your free throws, and you more than likely win in all scenarios.....but miss them and fans get excitement... I remember Nebraska beating Missouri and Kansas in games they had no business winning in Danny nee's second or third year, because they started fouling with three minutes left and the opposing teams failed to make their free throws.... To me, those games are fun to watch....games that end with a team up fifteen and running out the clock, not so much.
  9. I would like to go back to the bonus...no double bonus....if they miss first, save about 15 seconds as play resumes faster... All fouls after seven are one and ones.
  10. One thing this illustrates is the brutal travel schedules of officials.
  11. USD fired Joey James, a former Bellevue West standout. He was their interim coach. Small world. Joey James...had not heard that name in years. I coached the reserve squad at Bellevue west when Joey was a senior... Interesting. I'm a BW grad myself. I am a Fremont high grad, coached at Bellevue west for two years my junior and senior years at Creighton. Lanny Richards was a fantastic mentor for a young coach....

  13. I think pitchford has the most potential....NBA wise.
  14. There is one of the problems right there....rules that are selectively enforced. I have seen dunks in warm ups and always wondered why an administrative technical is not called...To me, the player called the Technical on himself, everyone knows you can't dunk in pre-game warmups...and if you don't your team deserves a technical because the coaches have never shared that with the team. And if you think it is a dumb rule...that is fine, change the rule...but don't let officials selectively enforce them...that is why the game is full of players with offensive moves that are simply travelling with the ball...yet officials let it go and usually those moves lead to a defensive player getting a foul called on him....when they should have called a travel prior to the contact.... .I will always say that I could guard just about anyone one they established their pivot foot (in my youth)...but when a player got a way with a travel, my limited athletic ability did not allow me to guard them without fouling them...but time after time, the foul was simply because they were allowed to travel.
  15. Shields had signed his loi ...he signed in November prior to docs last season.
  16. Every creighton fan I know that is from Nebraska roots for both teams. The only place I see the hatred for one or the other is really on these message boards. Now the non native Nebraskas that went to creighton or adopted creighton don't root for Nebraska.
  17. Penn state hosts Hampton on Wednesday. I think this us a good move for their program...get some extra games and practice for underclass men, and extend careers of seniors... Good luck.
  18. smu was in 71/80....that was the biggest miss that didn't make it.
  19. bYU in 70 of 80 brackets...would have been bigger surprise if they missed tourney.
  20. Patrick Stevens is only bracketologist in the bracket matrix to get all teams correct... Only guy to pick nc state.
  21. Actually says 12 am...which is midnight...so I am guessing they don't have the time either.
  22. Oregon and Altman could be the sweet 16 matchup......
  23. I saw noon on bleacher report for Baylor game...on Friday...true?
