  1. The Euro Step when done correctly is legal...but so many players gather the ball with one foot on the ground and when they land, they take a step (which should not be allowed because they are not allowed a pivot foot if they gather and jump off one foot. (when they gather with one foot on the ground, and land they should only be allowed to jump off both feet to shoot or pass. (which would limit the ground they can cover.... If they gather while both feet are off the ground, and land simultaneously on both feet they are allowed the pivot (basically another step and half since the second foot can not go back to the ground before a shot)
  2. The issue I see is in the gather...when i was taught a jump stop, you had to have both feet in the air to allow to have a pivot foot when you landed...the rule is still the same. Rule: when both feet are off the playing court and the player lands: Simultaneously on both feet, either may be the pivot foot; On one foot followed by the other, the first foot to touch shall be the pivot foot; On one foot, the player may jump off that foot and simultaneously land on both; neither foot can be the pivot foot. If you gather with one foot on the ground, that is the pivot foot unless they jump off that foot and land simultaneously on both feet...but then they cannot pivot from that position. Rule: When one foot is on the playing court: That foot shall be the pivot foot when the other foot touches in a step; The player may jump off that foot and simultaneously land on both; neither foot can then be the pivot foot.
  3. In this play, why did the officials think the basket should count, they either thought. 1. that the initial shot went in and they missed the tip in 2. that the initial shot was goaltended 3. that the foul occurred after the tip in (which it did Not) Now, depending on what is reviewable, it really depends on what initial ruling was. Looking up what I could find on replay rules.... They cannot review a basket interference and they can only check scoring if it was an official scorers mistake or if it was 2 or a 3...based on what I read, I don't think they could go to replay in this instance. NCAA Rules 2014-2015 Replay starts on page 98 Also, a correctable scoring error..it looks like they could review a correctable scoring error, but not if it was an error in judgment. e. Erroneously counting or canceling a score. Note: In order for this to be a correctable error, the official must have erred in counting or canceling a successful try for goal according to a rule A correctable error does not involve an error in judgment.
  4. No Problem, I had to look it up once before after yelling at the TV on another occasion....wondering how could Refs not see him move his pivot foot....I had to look it up again, because I knew you couldn't travel out of bounds, but wasn't sure how large the throw in area was. I still am struggling to understand the current interpretation of travelling in general...I played competitive basketball 28 years ago, and many of the moves I see in basketball today, would have been a whistle in a game or caused me to run stairs in practice.
  5. This is what I found in 2014-2015 rulebook: It looks to me that they just have to keep at least one foot in the 3 feet wide throw in location...Pivot foot does not matter Art. 8. The following pertain to a designated spot: a The designated spot is the location at which a thrower-in is presented disposal of the ball out of bounds as in 4-11.1.a through .c. b. The designated spot shall be 3-feet wide with no depth limitation. c. The thrower-in must keep one foot on or over the designated spot until the ball is released. Pivot foot restrictions and the traveling rule are not in effect for a throw-in. d. The thrower-in shall not leave the designated spot until he has released the ball and the thrown-in ball crosses the plane of the sideline or end line.
  6. You can't travel if you are throwing in the ball...it is a throw in violation if you move outside the designated area of where you are to throw in...In fact you could jump up and down..as long as you stay with in the designated area, there is no violation.
  7. I think there was 1:53 left...when it occurred...not 100% sure, but thought it was under 2
  8. There are only certain things they can review. I am not sure if that was reviewable (if the basket was on the original play or after the whiste) the other option would have been to review it as goaltending...since the original shot didn't go in, but was touched (obviously wasn't goaltending, so they couldn't call that)
  9. Nebraska 80 Iowa 74 Bench players scoring 3
  10. 13 scholarships available...I would think that allocating a couple of scholarships for Nebraska kids would help the program...Now, you have to do your homework and find the kids that will be able to play Division 1...but there are kids almost every year that end up having decent careers at the D1 Level.... Talent evaluaton will be key, but I think you need a local kid to help spur the passion...Can it be done without local kids, sure...but I think it helps your program if you can find those local gems. And if you are going to only utilize 12 scholarships...there is basically no risk...you aren't using all your scholarships anyway.
  11. Nebraska 63 Indiana 81 Conference wins 4
  12. Jacobsen must be a great three point shooter in practice...because he continues to take these shots.... If he can start hitting them occasionally...it would help...His shot looks decent, hit a couple and he might become a threat.
  13. Nebraska 73 ucla 77 3 players over 10
