I really think this game separates the men from the boys. And on this stage, we still have some boys. Ahem, Harris and Nana. If Tech is too athletic for Tanner, maybe give Brady a bit of time- either way, we need to settle down and we can come back
It’s awesome having a team with multiple players that can carry us. I remember one season that if Larry Florence didn’t get at least 21 or more, we were gonna lose by a lot. This team has much better balance than perhaps I originally thought. Nana and Tom have shown the ability from three so opposing teams can’t leave them wide open.
i love me some Roby, but he just seems way too laid back at times, wish he would play aggressive offensively all the time. Still, if he plays solid defense, that’s great too.
Watching the Tech vs. USC game right now, our bigs are going to be seriously tested tomorrow night.
Brady’s length has made a difference on a few offensive boards- he is a bit quicker to the ball too.
Miles has no qualms going deeper than I thought in a tighter game.
Brady looks like he belongs more than I thought he would before the season started.
Nana is still playing a bit timid- Harris is kind of out of control.
Roby HAS to stay out of foul trouble, at this point he’s his own best defender -
No complaints. My section was mostly empty, sparse crowd, the frisbee dogs were better than last year’s, and a student actually won the first national dash for cash. Oh, and D- Wayne is back. As for the game, we showed up, kicked butt, and on to the next one.
Interesting that Greg had such lengthy conversations with Dawkins. I mean, he’s quite the Chatty Cathy on a few of those calls...just discussing the weather, Omaha’s Zoo, that he should try a Runza, and details on the exchange of money. I’d also like to know Greg’s definition of a “lucrative job” you just create a position inside FNB or Union Pacific??
Offensively, Jack could shoot and could’ve helped last year. But his defense was a liability, so it kept him on the pine. A scrimmage like this doesn’t lend itself to showing some of the small things that could be the difference of seeing more pt or not. Miles did say on KLIN with Jack Mitchell that he was going to give Thorir a chance to play this year...
I was there too. My brother and I went to the summer league game when Sallie crossed a CU guy at the top of the key, drove, and dunked on Pierce Hibma so hard his mom got injured. I was sitting next to John Turek’s dad and he states “that guy is gonna be elite” sigh....
My greatest Shang Ping memory is when he hard fouled Joe Dabbert during a summer league game in Omaha...and Chad Millard started barking, only to have Ricky Thenarse challenge him to a fight. ? Millard tucked real fast...
